After 4.5 months I got my relaxer. I was wearing it in a curly wash and go all summer, so I asked Karen to run the relaxer through to the ends, and she gave me a red jazzing rinse.

I know a lot of us are cautious of stylists,and I have to admit that I was afraid to go to Karen because I didn't want my hair trimmed. Instead of just having the courage to speak up, I stayed away. All it took was a simple request, and since she always rollersets, she said I could get a trim the next time.

And her trims are always 'trims'. She always let me see first what she is doing. She is a gifted stylist and she never blow dries. Whether you are getting a short cut or long style her base is the roller set and she goes from there.

I will post this in the salon section as well. I too have suffered in my lifetime with the bad stylist, and I try so hard to do it myself, but I can't . Since I need help, I am glad to find karen. Here is her address:

220 Park Avenue
Baltimore, MD 21201
(410) 837-3683
She is closed on Sundays and Tuesdays. And sees clients up until 11 am on Saturday.

This Saturday, I got there at 8 a.m. and got out at 1:30 p.m. but I got a chemical and a rinse, and a roller set, so they were timely procedures.

Thanks for reading.

Congrats. Your hair looks really nice. Its great you were able to stretch for 4.5 months. However do not let her run the relaxer all the way to your ends again. It will thin about your hair.Only the New Growth nothing else.

But congrats your hair looks nice. I love the color.

Yes, I must admit, I knew that was a no-no. But it was still so curly, I didn't think it would look straight without doing it. I definitely don't want long, see-thru hair, thanks for the heads-up.

I'm loving your curls. your hair looks great and the highlights are subtle and hot. Your stylist did a excellent job!

:yep: I understand.I stretch for 6 months at a time and I do wash and gos and braid outs and co washed all summer. As soon as I do a roller set its all good. I had the same concern too at first. I love your curls so shiny.

Girl, I just peeped your fotki and I must say your hair journey is incredible!!! Your hair looks absolutely beautiful! What type of rollers did your stylist use?

Only here, can I not feel like a total nut for documenting my hair journey for over 5 years :)

My SO thinks I am batty, but then again, it is because of him, I don't have a baldie right now. I promised him I would let it grow out. I love hair care.

I am not sure what there are called. I know my hair is protected with a pretty thick end paper...I am not sure what mesh rollers are but these have a material around a spirally metal base...{it's not as bad as it sounds}
