stretching relaxers, do you blowdry newgrowth?

I'm trying to stretch my relaxer to 16 weeks. Do you wash and blow dry the hair during this period. I've been told if you air dry, you could lose hair due to matting and old hair tangling with new. How do you wash and dry and maintain the new growth?

I have no problems w/air drying my hair. I've been doing the ponytail rollerset method for awhile & it works great. Blowdrying isnt necessary, but if you've had problems with air drying this may be a better option.

I usally use Sta So Fro when airdrying to keep newgrowth in check.
My hair is funny and does not like to be airdried consistently so I blowdry with BBD Stretch Creme on a lot setting and it works great and I dont lose but a few hair in my comb and I stretched to 16 weeks for the first time.

I find that using a Denman D3 brush and setting my hair--either by braiding or rollersetting, gives me the look of blowdried hair. The key is to let your hair dry completely. Also, a good leave in helps it to dry smooth and silky.
