I usually texlax and I only do it every 12 or 13 weeks... I am now heading into week 14 and I think WWIII has unleashed in my head... its soooo thick... and its so hard to maintain. I broke down and had to start using that protein gel and aveda humectant pomade and a scarf just to hold it down and then after 5 hours my hair has sucked that up... Since I have been on here my hair is so much thicker and longer, i usually wear a bun b/c when I let it down... whew, I think I have about an 1/2 to an inch of new growth... so any ladies have any tips on what I can do to maintain it better, or should I just break down and texlax?

Are you using a good moisturizing DC at least once a week? Are you keeping up with your protein treatments? Do you use heat or air dry?

I use aphogee 2 min weekly and then i follow up with Joice Intense Hydrator and then I just bought some Roux Porosity Control to use after I DC. I always air dry and I flat iron maybe once or twice a month. and a week before I texlax use the Aphogee 2 step. I moisturize daily and right before I go to bed I use Long Lovely Locks essential oils and put on a (fake) lol satin scarf

I did a 17 week stretch last time and I found that getting the hair in "place" before it dried helped the most. I would condition like crazy, get out the shower and then use a leave-in and put in a ponytail to dry. The hair is so much easier to respond when wet or damp. But be careful with it because it is very fragile when wet.

please tell me about it. i'm at week 16. and i slept on my hair all weekend without a scarf. u can only imagine what my head looks like right now. I'm gonna co-wash today
