Meditation always works for me. Even if it's just 5 minutes at a time in a quiet place, focusing on the breath. There are many kinds of meditation and they all work very well.

tell everybody to go away, turn off the lights, tv and radio, and simply rest. You don't have to go to sleep, just clear your mind and breath deep

1st in foremost is my faith and trust in God. Then there's nothing for me like having a treatment or two at a Spa. If nothing else a massage does wonders to rid self of the physical tension d/t stress....I'm a long time over due.

Oh, If I remember correctly B vitamins is also good for stress in that they are good for the nervous system.

There's a really good book called "Food and Mood." It goes through each vitamin, tells how it affects your mood and health, and then lists some of the foods the particular vitamin occurs naturally in. I read it a few years ago and took some notes. Basically, the book said that deficiencies of the B vitamins can lead to stress-related symptoms and illnesses. Hope this helps:

B6 is supposed to help with mood/depression.
It's found in: bananas, avocados, chicken, wheat germ, collard greens, spinach, tomatos, brown rice, green peas, broccoli, nonfat milk, oranges, peanut butter, apples, whole wheat bread, white rice, and white bread (list goes from items that contain the highest amount to the lowest)

B12 deficiencies can lead to disorientation, numbness, tingling in hands and feet, reduced IQ, agitation, dizziness
It's found abundantly in:
foods of animal origin -- extra lean meat, chicken, fish, milk products, eggs

B1 defieciency can result in aggressiveness, anxiety, apathy, confusion, depression, fatigue, irritability, memory loss, nerve damage, poor concentration and attention span, psychosis
It's found in:
wheat germ, brewer's yeast, green peas, collards, oranges, legumes, and asparagus

As an aside, it said that biotin deficiency can lead to depression, fatigue, lethargy, sleepiness
It's found in: Oatmeal, soybeans, peanut butter, salmon, low-fat milk, brown rice, and chicken
