Storytime: Hairdresser Forced Me To Get A Relaxer

Why did she pay before the service?

I remember those younger days when you would sit in the salon chair and not speak up.

Gone are those days. Lol.

I "think" stylists are better these days. I'm not sure though because I haven't been to a salon in over 2 years.

Glad she said at the end she "technically wasn't forced into it"

They did tell her she could get one or leave. (She said they would not give her her money back if she did not get her hair done).

She was just young and did not know to tell her mom that they said they would steal her money.

Her hair (now) looks great.

I agree, her mother should have gone with her. Shame on those stylists. I was 9 when I got my first relaxer, so I understand where she's coming from. The stylist didn't know it was my first time getting one so when I started crying because it burned she was confused until I told her.

Her hair is awesome. I wonder how long she's been natural.

The hair stylist needs to be slapped. They are paid to do as they are told and nothing more. If you aren't comfortable working with certain types of hair then speak up. Want to experiment? Buy a mannequin head to play with or experiment with your own head.
