Girls if any of u use this please know that it has a history of causing breast cancer. There are many studies.

1 study a dr said several of his male patients who took it had breast cancer.

Another states Carcinogenicity
Spironolactone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Studies of spironolactone and the related compound potassium canrenoate (which, like spironolactone, metabolizes to canrenone) in rats for one- to two-year periods show an increase in carcinogenesis in the thyroid gland, testes, liver, breasts, and myelocytic leukocytes. s. In light of this research, Sandoz has recommended that unnecessary use of spironolactone be avoided

Well, a well know side effect of Spironolactone use in men is Gynaecomastia: breast development. However, I've not heard of strong links to cancer. The thing is we cannot fully compare rat-models and humans ever.
Afterall, ALLI (Orlistat) the weight loss pill sold over the counter also was shown to cause bowel cancer in the rats they initially tested it on. However, no such human links have been found.
Hope this helps!

I've taken out hours to research online and have found ton's of articles, studies and some people writing in blogs about it. I just didn't copy them.

I did so because I used it and noticed more breast pain and fibroid pain, all of which I had none before hand. I researched and found out spiro is a tumor accelerator. And it stimulates hormonal related breast cancer.

Thanks for posting this. I use Spiro for a few dys every few months as it is the only thing that gets my acne under control. Helpful info!

Do some research online. Or ask your dr. I find mines didn't know. I did research. If you use it try the smallest dose and get regular breast exams and mams like you should.

Also for acne I read on this forum about Spearmint tea.
