... in the DC area?

This is what I have discovered are treebraids (not invisible braids or lacing?)...

...by one of our members. Hers look great and I think I want to try, but need input and a recommendation of a stylist please.

Thank you in advance!

I had some earlier this year, you gotta be adamant about not getting it braided up too tight, my head was tore up for days  , sorry, I can't give you any recommendations for stylists in your area. Overall though I liked them

thanks I will make sure (once I find someone to do them) not to get them too tight and to let some loose in the front, I dont want anyone to see whre the braid starts. I know what you guys mean it is hard to explain this to stylist .....

Okay I think I found someone in the DC area! Braids by Noma in Oxon Hill. I will call her and see about an appt and if I have a good results will report back, but if anyone else knows of anyone let me know.

If you don't mind, could you report back either way? I've never seen this style before outside of LHCF, and I'm really interested in what it all entails.

thanks trimbride for the headsup. Insatiable I will let you know. I go for a consult this Sat so she can decide if I need alot or a little bit of hair. I told her that I do not want small cornrows and that I want some of my hair loose in the front, therefore mine- if I decide to get them- may not be her reg price of $180. She says you are not supposed to leave them in for more than about a month or your hair will mat.

I wish i would have saw this thread yesterday before i started putting all these box braids in my hair. This is going to be the next thing i do to my hair after i take these box braids out.

I had tree braids many times and I have pics in my fotki in my very first album called WEAVE O RAMA!! Hahaha. I got mine done in ATL though so I'm no help, just wanted to jump on the tree braid train! They did mess up my hairline though, but I should note it was before LHCF and I didn't know how to take care of my hair or speak up abt it being too tight

thanks! I am going to wait for now before I put them in but can not wait to hear if any one in DC area has had them and who they went to

TeeKay your treebraids were the bomb! How much were they? How long did it take? The short sewn in looked good too.

Thanks for the info iCandey. Can you (or anyone else) tell me how they are done? Is there hair braided into the cornrow or something? I'm so fascinated with this now LOL.

HI Insatiable,

As far as I can read, hair is braided in a cornrow with fake hair added and as the cornrow gets braided more and more of the fake hair is let loose. Like some one else mention an "E"
