If you are or know of anyone who has, please respond to the brand AND the dosage/frequency.

Also, if you have additional info on it, let me know.

I use this for hair shedding and its the ONLY thing that has helped me.

Hey dimechiq

I started using it 2 days ago. 1800mg a day. 2 pills twice a day. Bought the capsules in Holland and Barratt (a UK vitamin shop).

I'm using it for hair shedding and acne.

Obviously its too early for any kind of results.

Glad its working for you.

i've read that it is really good for growth, as well.

i have a John Masters Follicle Treatment spray that has Saw Palmetto in it, however, reading this thread makes me remember, i need to use it more often!
(in the instructions, the spray treatment is said to be good for growth.)

My dermatologist just recommended this for me today. But she did advise not to get pregnant while taking it. I don't know enough about it though. I think i'll pass for now.

I took nouritress PLUS vitamins for 2 months and it has saw palmetto in it. I did get 2 inches in 2 months but stopped taking it when I found out it blocks estrogen and I'm trying to get preggers so I gave away to an old lady.

Saw palmetto is a DHT blocker and is a natural alternative to rogaine. Other than the estrogen effects, I would have continued to take it cause it worked.

Hey grow I'm missing you lady!

I don't know if using saw palmetto topically has the same effects as internal consumption.

I have been wondering about saw palmetto since someone recommended it an old thread. I only see saw palmetto for prostate health so I was scared to buy it.

Are the nouritress vitamins capsules?

I've done quite of bit of research on saw palmetto because I was trying to find something to re-grow my thinning crown. It seemed that everytime I found a product for hair re-growth they all had the ingredient of saw palmetto in common. After researching, I found that it is used for prostate health in men but was found to be useful in male pattern baldness. It is used to block the hormone known as DHT, that attacks the hair follicle, shrinking it, until it eventually falls out. There's no need to go out and spend alot of money when you can purchase some over the counter products that will work. If you're experiencing hair loss that is related to hormones or heredity I would try saw palmetto with nettles root or nettles root with dong quai. They are all herbal supplements that block dht and work well together.

WARNING: beware of side effects of saw palmetto. Number one for women is ANTI-ESTROGENIC!

So if you are pregnant, nursing or trying to get pregnant, doctors strongly advise NOT to take.

I bought Saw Palmetto and Stinging Nettle from the Vitamin Shoppe(also known as nettles root) and began taking them Monday. I take Biotin once a day and Saw Palmetto and Stinging Nettle three times a day. I have two kids already so not really worried about the estrogen issues. I would only suggest Saw Palmetto for people with hormone related hair loss, if you're just trying to achieve growth there are other herbal supplements that are strictly for hair health.

I threw my bottle away but I was taking it for health reasons(pcos). I need to look into it more but I thought it was good for women with low estrogen. I forget.

Will use the Saw Palmetto Tea for Tea Rinsing! Very good.

It is suppose to block DHT etc..... good for hair loss.
