I have tried SOO many gels but I can never get that slicked down wavy look that some of you ladies get! I'm not sure what texture I have (natural) but I don't think it's a combo of 3c 4a and 4b. The thing is that it is SUPER SUPER thick and its almost armpit length. But I have seen other girls put their hair together in one and it lays down flat no curls popping up and waves to top it off How you do it!? I have been able to do it ONCE...(the pic is in my myspace) and I don't know what I did to achieve it but I haven't been able to receate. Give me ALL the details...I mean ALL! Down to the special gel dance you have to do before you start!

When I was natural, I would apply the gel to wet hair (usually once I got out of the shower) and put a silk scarf on for the night. When I awoke in the morning, my hair would be pretty flat. If any stray hairs did pop out at that time, I would just apply a little water and a drop of gel and put the scarf back on for a little while.

HTH!

When you take off the scarf you don't wrinkles on your hair from the scarf?

No, not really. You tie the scarf so it covers your hairline (if you know what i mean) and tie the knot at the back. HTH

oh ok! I'm going to try it this week end...Now do you put a lot of gel on? and how long should I keep the scarf on it?

It can depend. If I'm doing it on wet hair, I'll use about a half dollar amount and I'd keep the scarf on for at least an hour ot two. If on dry hair, I use about half a handful and keep it on for about 30 mins.
