I couldn't help myself. I did the BKT.

I am a natural 4a/b textured lady.

The verdict is out. I am undecided more leaning towards loving it. I trust the ladies here that it will get better after continuous processes.

Here is the best I could do! It took me about 5 hours.

I washed my hair in twists. Then took out each one and detangled them and put hair in sections.

After applying the BKT, drying and flat-ironing my hair; this is what I was left with.

I should have left my hair alone, but no........ I had to trim my ends

I then washed my hair out to apply Step 3 of the Softliss product.

Here is a before and after BKT picture comparison.

This is the best picture I got. Pardon the glare

As far as my texture... It's the same.

The most noticeable change is that my hair is extremely soft and dries very fast.

Over the weekend, I continued to do co-washes and seal with JBCO.

I just orderded more of the Chocolate Kit. My sis wants me to do her relaxed tresses and I will do my daughter's hair as well.

N.B. There are pictures of my daughter's relaxed tresses in my album.

Your hair looks beautiful! Its so thick!:thud: Also I really like the decor of your eating area!:yep: That yellow paint looks lovely on your walls.

OMG! You did the BKT. Is it what you expected?

I must confess, I used to lurk the twisting for growth challenge for your pics.

No it wasn't what I expected. I was scared that I would lose my natural curl pattern. I bought the kit for my daughter's damaged hair.

I was however pleasantly surprised at how soft my hair is without any additional product added.

My curl pattern is the same. I am curious to find out if after additional applications, my curl pattern will loosen and hang down, as oppose to out.

The only negative I can currently think of, is the top portion of my hair is a looser curl pattern than the sides and back. And now even morseo, I just have fluffy hair. No definition. I'm not sure how to work with it.

I think however, that I will still twist my hair just not commit myself to a six-month challenge. It was too long for someone as fickle as myself.

I appreciate you lurking in the Twisting for Growth Challenge Thread. I had fun posting pictures of my hairstyles.

Hey girl..You know I love your hair/thickness. But you definitely have to do what is best for your hair. Like you, I agree that 6m was way too long for a challenge. Now I know. 3m seems to work best for me. And like you, I'm contemplating changing up my style now that I am back in the USA. I know I won't perm/texlax b/c they are not my thing. But I may find a natural salon to give me a really good cut....

Hi!

I had some good growth from the twisting challenge and thanks for starting it.

I'm not sure if you noticed but when I called myself trimming my hair, I jacked it up. It's not too noticeable since I wear my hair in it natural state. (Am I still a natural?) I too would like to find a salon that can give me a good trim. Even it out some.

Still loving your thickness and length Donewit! I agree with all - whatever makes you happy!

I'm suprised your curl pattern hasn't loosened up though. That is the main attraction I'm drawn to with BKT. Did you do the whole she bang, flat irons and all? I still have a bottle bought in April sitting on my shelf, lol.

Hey Jax.

I sure did the whole shebang, just as instructed.

As far as a loosening of curls, I do believe that if and when I apply a second application my hair will fall more. It has loosened a bit, but not lost (A Good Thing) and is extremely soft to the touch even when dried. I did the blowdrying and flatironing process. Please, that process took me about 5 hours.

Which BKT do you have? I liked it so much that I reordered the 32 oz of the Softliss Chocolate Kit.
