Sorry guys

I can never decide what to buy next
I just bought all soft heavy cream and now I dont even want to use it because i heard it tangles hair, and i already have enough of that!!
So now I have that (wasted 14 bux) anyway, which one do I get??
I really need a great DEEP conditioner that strengthens and moisturizes my hair, and I am hoping my next buy will be my staple!

Edited to ephasize "deep"

So helo

Girl, did you even *try* the Redken, though? It might work for you! Don't give up on it yet. Try it out at least once before you pass on it.

Personally, I love Elucence, because it's a multipurpose conditioner and it smells GREAT. I use it as a deep conditioner and a leave-in. I'd say it's more for moisturizing than strengthening, though. If you need protein, I'd try something else (I don't think the Elasta DPR-11 has protein either, but I could be wrong).

Okay Elucence is great for detangling and it is very lightweight IMO (my hair is thick so take this with a grain of salt). Plus it can be used as a leave in. Overall it's o.k., but not spectacular (I'm in the minority though).

DPR doesn't have the same detangling capabilities but it is a heavier, more moisturizing conditioner. I prefer it to Elucence because I have other conditioners that detangle well. BTW this has petroleum in it as one of the main ingredients.

ETA-Neither of these are strengthening conditioners. I suggest you try the redken atleast once. I used the smooth down butter treat and it was good for detangling.

I voted for Elasta because I love the way my hair feels after I use it. I have a relaxer. I've never used Elucence so I don't have anything to offer as far as it goes. Good luck with your decision.

I did not vote becaue I have not tried Elucence. Just ordered the Elucence Moisture Benefits Shampoo and Elucence Moisture Balancing Conditioner earlier today. I do know that when I deep conditioned with Elasta QP DPR me and my hair was not impressed. I ended up giving it away. Will not repurchase or try the Elasta QP DPR-11 again.

i probably should try it
but i am petrified of possible tangles
my hair already tangles on its own

i might have to give it a shot though, a wash is coming up

Both are equally good, but if you're deep conditioning then the DPR is probably better.

Yes... can these two conditioners even be compared? I'm thinking they serve different purposes. Their thickness/textures are very different. (Yes, I've used both). Their ingredients are different as well.

Maybe it depends on the individual's hair type/texture/thickness, etc.

I just bought a wonderful detangler made by Royal Roots, it a black owned company too. The bottle states it can be used as a leave in so I would suggest trying it once you done with the DC. Personally once I rinse my hair I like to apply something that helps detangle before moving on to styling or whatever I"ll be doing.

EbonyPerez, use that Redken Allsoft Heavy cream girl ! I have some of that and I know it is too expensive to waste:). My hair is relaxed and I only use it once I get to my 8th - 12th week cause then my new growth is outta control. I don't leave it on long (about 10 -15 minutes max)because it has protein but it detangles pretty good and though some find it moisturizing I always follow it with a moisturizing detangling deep conditioner because of the protein. give it a shot and I mainly use it for pre-poos that is another way to use it also but its a good conditioner, you paid too much for it to just let it go my sista:).

Blessed hair growing to you!

you aint never lie!!
i will use it!!
ive decided to take your advice and if its horrific than i will moveo n to Elucence or Elasta next... but i havent made a decision on that yet
Thanks so much!
I will use the heavy cream on my next wash and we will see what happens
wish me luck!

I will vote Elucence, but I do love Redken all soft...In fact, I might buy a gallon. I have been a Redken fan since before I went natural, though. It is good for co-washes. Whenever, I took my braids out, I would pack the all soft conditioner on my hair and detangle the matted parts out. It was very good. Elucence is okay. I just have not been using it as much as I thought I would.

ITA. DPR 11 for Deep conditioner. I like both of these conditioners though.

okay so i tried the redken all soft heavy cream
and i dont know if it did anything
my hair felt fine afterwards
however, i did feel a bit of buildup as it dried and as i platted it
i dont know... it wasnt fabulous
but then again, i dont even know how to tell when a deep conditioner IS fabulous
