Hmm...
I don't like the way that on a lot of makeover shows the only way to 'improve' someone's hair is to cut it...

I think Elizabeth's hair was really nice longer. I think the short cut is boring, and looks stiff.
I think Cathleen's hair looks better shorter. But, it may have been ok kept long after a few deep conditioning treatments.
And Alanda's new do looks like a wig, too unnatural. Her hair before looks great.

I think all of their hair looks great but they could have made over Alanda's hair by doing the same style without losing 5 inches. I think its hard for "regular" people to find a great stylist to do a great cut so instead of risking it peoplpe just avoid the whole thing.

Yeah I know I can't really afford a $400 professional cut. Or rather, I don't and won't pay that much for a cut.

I think it is a wig/weave. If you compare the length of her orginal hair and the length of her curls that's how long it would be if they hadn't cut it.

They did say he cut 5 inches off the back. There's no way you can tell how long her hair really is. I know that my hair looks way shorter from the front than it does from the back.
When I wear curls like that, in a picture it may look like I have bra-strap hair but in the back the curls are down to my waist.
And even with my hair straight you can't see the real length if I pull it to the front. Cause there's still hair left in the back.
And I know I've cut 4-5 inches off my hair before and people would argue with me that I only did a small trim cause my hair still looked too long to have taken off so much.
So there's really no way to know how long her hair was before or how long it is after.

Hmm, the last woman said that she knew her hair was too long because she was getting split ends. Isn't that just not taking care of your hair? That just seemed a little weird to me. Her hair looked nice afterwards, though!
