So, I relaxed my hair this weekend. I used the steps from a link posted here. But, impatient is my middle name and I did not read them all the way through.

I rinsed the relaxer out then put on a protein conditioner before washing with the neutralizer. Instead of leaving it on for 3-5 minutes, I sat under the dryer with a plastic cap on for forty-five minutes. All things considered, I am lucky I escaped with only two very small scabs. But damn they hurt.:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

You cooked relaxer into your hair for 45 minutes? Wow-my scalp hurts for you. Hopefully your thorough rinsing before hand will help to reduce the potential damage.

Oh yeah-Smartypants-read ALL of the directions!!!:look:

Read all of the directions! Especially when dealing with potentially harmful chemicals like relaxers.

I hope you're feeling better now. Try putting some anti-bacterial ointment or pure aloe vera on your scalp to ensure that it heals properly.
