I swear it is the best style ever and it makes it easy to wash and condition my hair everyday.

One question though: What is the best moisturizer to put on it after you take the braids down to keep it soft and moist all day?

I'm glad you had success with this style. I like to use oil to keep my hair shiny and soft all day. I would not use anything water-based as it will disturb the formation.

I feel you on this one Lisatamika, having curls frame your face is very attractive! I wear my hair like this all the time. I moisturize my hair with the following: UBH Creme Moisturizer (just recently), Elasta QP moisturizer and ISO Bouncy Creme. When I braid my hair at night, I always seal & twist the ends with some Hollywood Castor Oil and/or Elasta QP Mango Butter to keep the ends moist. In the morning when I take the braids down my ends are slightly curled. This is definitely the best way I've worn my hair and yep, I feel cute too

So do you wear yours all down or do you clip it up some kind of way? I did figure out that too much combing is not good and the only style I've done so far is just putting a slip on the front part. Any ideas?

I like to keep it simple because it's kinda like a "protective style" for me that just happens to look cute. I don't manipulate my hair that much in a braid-out, I just wear it loose. My hair is long so this works for me (it grew so much from the braid-out 22 inches long) What's a slip on the front part. Sorry I didn't get that, Duh me!

Girl, you are so funny. I love braidouts too...they look so wavy and stylish. I, personally, use Isoplus conditioning spray sheen on mine. I haven't heard anyone say anything against it so, until they do, I'll keep using it whenever I do that style. Right now, I have my hair in braids and plan to keep it that way until next summer.

Enjoy your new do!

I meant to say clip instead of slip

. I use pink oil on mine at night after I conditioner wash it or shampoo it and I'm trying out World of Curls spray on it in the mornings until somebody gives me a better idea.

I do individual plaits instead of cornrows cuz I'm not that good of a cornrower!!! I just make between 6 and 8 plaits in my hair and try to do it early enough in the evening so it can air dry a little.

You don't "have" to do a lot of braids ms kenesha...I just do 3 big ones.

lisatamika - glad this worked out for you!

NAY007 - do you have a photo journal? I see that you're transitioning without chopping! I'm doing the same and wondered about your regimen.

hairlove,

i used to have one when i first registered here but i was too cheap to pay for my album and it wasn't that important to me. but maybe i will start a new one soon. your hair reminds me of mine though. that's why i asked you that one time what your hairtype is:)
my regimen is pretty simple:

i wash with creme of nature about twice or three times a week

i always deep condition afterwards with any conditioner, but my favorite is st. ives fortifying strength and shine

when my hair is damp i put some LUST serum in it and detangle with a wide tooth comb

i add some oil and at the moment always let my hair airdry in one or two braids

during the week i wear my hair in protective styles (bun, braid/s)

when i feel like it i wear my hair curly or straight

that's it girl...nothing special i know:)

Thanks Nay! I did see that you were a feature one month so I'm sure you have a handle on things!

Sorry for getting off topic! - Carry on with the cute braidout discussion!

Dutchess,
Do you always make your braids with wet hair? Or do you airdry yours first. I thought you commented about this on another thread but I can't remember what you said.
