I soo agree with the person that stated that you cant have both a relaxer and a color. I mean yeh you can have it, but if you wait long periods of time to perm the ends will start to break off.
Maybe it is only with me. My hair has grown considerably but my ends are a drag because the are all ummmm, I dont know how to describe t but I like the way my regular hair is shiny and healthy looking.

Just had to share that!

BTW I think I heard oprah's stylist say this

I've been wearing permanent color for going on 3 years now. I guess it depends on the person because my color has never given me any problems, and my hair is bleached and permed. The key is keeping your hair well protected, which is why I prefer to use thick products, for coating coverage. But like I said, what goes for one may not go for the other.

i think this depends with how u treat yo hair coz look at tracy's hair, its double chemincally processed yet it flourishes more than my natural hair, its all dependant on the amount of tlc yo hair receives

Me too. My hair is relaxed and color-treated and it's doing just fine. I admit that it does require extra TLC, but I believe that you CAN do both and have success.

I honestly believe that even with all the products in the world, some people's hair can only withstand but so much. There are people out their who can use very little TLC with their hair and still have it looking thick and long. I also believe that with care or no care, some people's hair is just not meant to tolerate too much exposure to damaging processes AND retain length/good looks. You have to figure out what works for your head, and be willing to reap the rewards OR learn from your mistakes.
