A work in progress
Who's done with all the growing and protecting and measuring and such because they've reached their goal?
i'm curious, because we don't hear from people like that often.
What's your regimen now? How has it changed?
What do you even do to "maintain?" Regular trimming, etc?
Do you do something crazy like flat-iron every day?:look: or are you still about low heat, low manipulation, etc??

Let's hear about it!! Pretty please??

Traycee has gotten there. I think she's at hip length now? she's wearing her hair out a lot more... Maybe she'll pop in this thread to talk about it.

I'm done with trying to get to a goal length. I still bun almost daily. I trim when I straighten my hair which is not often.

I regimen has not changed. I wash once a week, bun for a couple of days, cowash and rebun for a couple of days. Lately I've been cowashing every other day.

Bunning is just easier for me. I don't like hair in my face so it works. I haven't trimmed in a while. I plan to relax this week and I'll get someone to trim back to MBL. Earlier this week when I was getting out the shower my husband said my hair is really long, so I know it prob time for a major trim. Now that I know my hair will gow to any length I choose I'm good. MBL is enough hair for me and my husband to enjoy.

Dlewis, I can't wait to SEE the day that I know that my hair will grow to any length that it chooses. You are an inspiration :yep:!

Great thread, OP!

I'm kind of in maintanence mode. I'm no longer actively trying to grow my hair out to any specific goal length. Reaching classic length or longer would be fun, but if I don't make it, oh well.

When I started my hair journey, my goal was to have waist length hair and I quickly reached that. Up until last year, I didn't even know I could grow hair longer than waist length.

My hair is very low maintainence. My regimen hasn't changed. I've always kept it simple. I co wash sometimes as much as daily and other times as little as once a week. Conditioner and sometimes EVOO are my only hair products. I finger comb and very rarely comb my hair. I very rarely straighten my hair or use heat either.

I mostly bun because it's convenient. Plus I don't like my hair getting caught in things or bugs getting caught in my hair (I sometimes spend a lot of times outdoors). I have no problem wearing it loose either but I have so much hair that it can be uncomfortable especially during the summer time.

I trim as needed, which isn't often. My hair is no longer one of my obsessions since I've reached my goal. I just focus on living life now.

I am so there.

I realised I am happy with my hair as is.

I joined LHCF with WL hair and bunning and challenges were never a part of my routine to get there (it was all by God's grace) so I'll keep doing what I have been doing sans the lobbing of my hair when all it really needs is to be clarified or chelated... I'm good.

What's your regimen now? Roller set my hair most nights.

How has it changed? Knowledge of protein/moisture balance, seamless combs.

What do you even do to maintain? "Listen" to my hair.

Do you do something crazy like flat-iron every day? Not a fan of direct heat so no nothing crazy... I keep it pretty simple.

I am watching from the sideline-

Congrats to those who are "there"

Bookmarking.

I'm sure it has to be more ladies who have reached their hair goals and are no longer actively trying to grow their hair. But I do just want to say that I cannot wait until I get to the point where I'm not eyeballing my hairs length every couple of months. That must be a liberating feeling!

I'm there sitting about an inch from BSL.
What's your regimen now? On work days I keep my hair in a bun on days off I let it do whatever it wants by either rocking a fro or puff. I cowash a couple days a week and shampoo once a week. Every now and then when DH happens to work a night shift I'll throw some honey, molasses, coconut oil and shea butter in my hair overnight.
In the winter months I'll probably go back to blowdrying my hair a couple times a month

How has it changed? I can't really say it changed that's basically the same thing i was doing to grow it out

What do you even do to maintain? I trim my hair every other month

Do you do something crazy like flat-iron every day? nothing crazy, extreme or exciting here. The closest i get is every now and then I'll sleep on cotton pillow cases without a scarf/durag
