So whats wrong with wet wraps?

lol, I can/cant barely do a dry wrap. I think some people shy from it because of the manipulation it causes on the hair strands which for some people are weaker while wet. Some women on here do manage a wet wrap though.

I don't know how to flat iron my hair into a wrap! I can Flat iron it but it doesn't wrap. I need a tutorial lol

Exactly what she said. If I were to ever attempt to do it myself, it would be within 2 weeks post of a relaxer. Other than that, It's just too much manipulation :nono:

I only did that when my hair was cut shorter--ear length or shorter. Longer hair takes too much manipulation and time to dry. Rollersets rule. Or even just drying it straight under the hood dryer. Besides, I can't even stand dry wraps nowadays. My scarf neva eva stays on :lachen:

I concur with what everone else has said, hair too weak while wet to have to comb that much and it takes too long to dry. I think I shed more when I wrap my hair every night. I personally have experienced much less breakage since I stopped wrapping my hair. I don't manipulate my hair that much anymore since I found this site.

i air dry the best with wet wraps. I use this to eliminate flat ironing.
I wrap when hair is soaking wet and sealed. I have apl hair and its hasnt been a problem. i tied with scarve and bonnet and leave overnight. In the am its dry or mostly try and makes it easiy to put in bun or whatever my protective style is.
the key is to wrap loosely and section by section. I think the problem with wrapping comes when your wrapping too tight, or just trying to brush your hair clockwise at one time around your head.

I just don't like the idea of brushing my hair when its wet. I am sure that it is okay if it is done carefully.
