i just got my CHI a month ago and i think i temporarily lost my :censored: mind!! i was using it everyday almost and my dumb self caused my fragile ends to just dry up and die ....and i was almost apl lol ...i just finished choppin off my ugly ends and now im at full cbl :wallbash: ..i mean i know its just hair:look: but i lost all my progress

ok im done

so my question is, besides droppin all that heat cuz thats done, what can i do to prevent this from happening again? i dont think sealin did anything but im up for anything at this point..

Every Day....? Cheesh, yeah, you said it...you lost your mind temporarily.
Now that you're back. Start trimming away the damage.
Focus on Deep Conditioning.

Only use heat once a week and only when you've deep conditioned. That was my routine when I was relaxed and my hair was healthy. Deep Condition. Blow dry with low heat & low air and then flat iron.

Chi Silk is my fav silicone product.

Two words- avoid heat. :yep:
If you insist on using heat on a regular basis- long hair is probably not in your future.

Sorry- I think it takes all of us a while to figure out what to do with out hair without all the heat. I own an FHI runway, Maxiglide and miniglide, and the Conair Steam Straightener... I use them maybe once or twice a month AND mostly then just for touching up a straight style. Try to learn how to do rollerwraps to achieve straight styles and buy some Caruso steam rollers for quick curls. Also whenever you use heat use a heat protectant spray and the lowest setting possible. Don't worry, it'll grow back.

I totally understand. Once I had hair on my shoulders, my already thin ends were bad! And here I go straight flat-ironing it into hair heaven...

I went from CBL back to just grazing SL in a matter of a few months... you lost your mind temporarily...welcome back to the real world.

Brush it off, hide your hair, and get back to APL.

I'm so sorry that you lost your progress. But that was a lot of flat ironing!

Did you use a heat protectant? Although with as much ironing that you was doing, your hair would have been dried out anyway.

Now that you've cut it off, you can start over....it will grow back in no time.

yea i used a heat protectant and i curled my bang daily or everyother day not my whole head but as i said my ends were already fragile and i got carried away...

So you used it everyday on your bangs and your whole head went from APL to CBL?

1) :hammer:

2) You are required to bun every day for the next month. LOL

ugh! lol its not comin out right..i used it on my bangs everyday but i used it on my head quite frequntly like every week and my ends were already frizzed up and the heat made them feel smooth but that was doing more harm than good so they ended up worse

i read the reviews on folica when i got my CHI and many customers complained about hair damage, even though they were using some form of heat protectant. from what i've read, CHI is a great flatiron but it is not for daily use. maybe when you want to wear your hair straight you can wrap it or something to make it last longer. if you can go longer than a week then once it starts looking less straight, try some braidouts or bantus.

treat ur ends like silk , perhaps if you ever consider straightening ur hair you could maybe rollerset and wrap your hair after.
