Hello ladies! I finally subscribed:grin:, after monitoring and taking advice from the boards for two months now! I am a biracial college student, with almost SL hair. ( I dont know my hair type, but i think i may be between a 3c/4a with some 3b and 3a....so many textures!!! :drunk:) My hair is naturally curly, but after experimenting with relaxers, coloring and layering, it left my hair looking like a hot mess!:wallbash: So for the past year, i tried bunning for growth at work, and it really helped! Now, In the past two months, i have had my hair professionally colored back to its natural dark brown, and i have been trying to establish a regimen per everything bit of advice on the boards. I must admit, i am a bit of a PJ :blush: so i was excited to go out an purchase some of these products i have been hearing about. Here is what i bought this weekend:

* Shea Butter
* S-curl no drip
*V05 Conditioner
*CON shampoo for regular hair
*Castor oil (for sealing)
* Hot Six Oil
* Biotin ( started taking this weekend)
* Fantasia IC gel ( for my curly days)

I used to wash my hair every morning, and go, but i have started to cowash instead, in an attempt to retain moisture. I also tried a braidout for the first time!! It came out great! I followed the youtube vid i found here, and had excellent results ( i will post pics soon!!)

I want to try Megatek, but i dont know where to get it from and where to start and quite frankly, i am a little afraid. :nono:

Is there anyone out there that can help me out a little? I need some more advice and just wondering if i am doing the right things. I would love to achieve BSL by June of 2009. :yep:

Welcome!!!!

Sounds like you're off to a great start. You will definitely see the benefits of co-washing after a few days (it took me about 2 weeks) and your hair will thank you for it.

As far as Megatek, come to the dark side LOL Don't be skeered

I bought mine off this website
http://www.saddleuptack.com/webcat/items/item831.htm

And here's another website

Before using Megatek make sure you read the threads (all 400 pages) and apply it correctly so you won't have protein overload.

Wow:lachen: that is a little skeery...but i am still interested. Thanks so much for letting me know where i can find it! I am trying to get a Pikistrip or Fotki started so i can put my recent photos up. I can not wait to get all of my hair back!!! LOL!

I just recently started using Castor oil and I love it. Which brand are you using? I am going to order a bottle of the Black Jamaican Castor oil on Friday. I might also buy shea butter.

I honestly could not find any at first and got lucky at Walmart! I am not sure of the name, but i used it in my braidout last night on my ends, and my ends are so curly and moisturized today. Castor oil is veery thick, so i only need a small touch of it for my ends.
