So my girl has a maxiglide and I said, let me try it out to see what the hype was all about. Now I didn't take my time to do this, just did enough to "test"...plus my hair wasn't really "clean" as it had styling products and curly buttercreme in it from when I did my hair yesterday. It's been over 2 years since I wore my hair straight so I got through half my head and started missing my curls! I'm off to wash and condition and go "back to normal", but here are the results. All in all, I was very impressed and can see why it's so popular.

I hear ya' so1913.

I bought the premium pkg. Maxiglide and I loved it . It did just what they promised I was able to get my natural hair straight w/o blowdrying first which is great.

I wore it like that cause I wanted to give myself a good trim, I was good for a week but I am in love w/ my natural hair , I wasn't ready to wash & condition (too lazy) so I just spritzed it down real well with Surge plus 14 and some water and twisted the front with some curly buttercreme and put it back in a bun with my new Kinky donut bun and it was a wrap.

I much prefer your hair natural than straight. Your curls are so adorable :)

Yeah...that lasted about 20 mins, lol. I almost had a heart attack when it didn't curl up as soon as the water hit  Everthing is cool, just needed a good washin' and conditioning. My kinks and curls are back :)

*sigh* you hair is so pretty. Its inspiration of what my hair could be. The back curls up so pretty just like yours but I have lot of heat damage on most parts so I'm trying to grow it out, but it seems like it will never be fully like that.

Anyways beautiful hair straight and curly!

LOL, I can just imagine the look on ya face waiting on those curls to go pop again  . You kind of resembled another LHCFer w/the straight hair.

I concur. :yep:

SO1913, how long is your hair when straightened?

My hair is layered, but from what I could tell, the longest layer is about armpit, shortest probably chin, slightly longer.

Yup yup, you look good with both!!! I love your hair - need to get one of these maxiglides

Hey So1913,

Girl, I almost fell out when I saw who the OP of this thread was. I love, love, love your curls.

Just to have the option of wearing your hair curly or straight on your own terms is wonderful...either way your hair looks good. I hope when mine grows back in after transitioning gives me that same feeling...

You look fabulous girl. Get your smile on!

I'm glad that you gave us all a peek at what the maxiglide can do (I may be investing in a flatiron soon so this is a good before and after to keep in mind), but your curls are sooooooooooo beautiful...I'm so totally envious of them! I think you make a wonderful example of how beautiful natural can be so rock those curls girl!

Girl, you got a twin in DC! My old college roomie (who happens to be one of your Sorors) could pass for your fraternal twin! You guys look so much alike!
