So I just got my MTG in the mail...

One of the things that helped me was getting a color application bottle from Sally's or any BSS. It really helps to control the amount of MTG that you apply. After that just decide how often you want to use it and if you need to add any essential oils to mask the smell (I've use mine alone and as a mix with Surge, WGO and eos). Another tip that I found helpful is applying it while the hair is still wet. The smell definitely goes away once my hair is dry.

Hope this helps.

You can also mix it in a seperate container with Root Stimulators' Carrot Oil Cream and essential oils to hide the smell if it bothers you.
I apply it straight too, but you have to watch for the dripping. HTH:)

PS As lmjenk67 mentioned, the applicator bottle works great too. I bought one at Sallys last year.

Is this MTG thing just good for people going natural? Or is it for people with relaxed hair as well?
It's good enough for anyone who wants hair...
Seriously though, there are people here who are using it with relaxed hair and are getting great results. I'm natural though. It has been known to thicken the hair too.

Thanks a million.
MTG comes up in EVERY single thread, it's hard to avoid it.
I think I will have to try it too.

i always put it on damp washed hair- i find thats the best way becuase by the next morning i cant smell it at all!!!

So this is a leave in tonic then?
How often do you ladies use it? everyday, everyweek, once a month?
And can you use it on your scalp with braids as well?

What proportions can you mix this with oils?

I use MTG every other day. You may want to do a sensitivity test first though.

BTW, you have to shake gently because it settles thick at the bottom of the bottle. :D

Yes! This did not occur to me with my first purchase of the small bottle... I was wondering why it got so thick towards the end!

I've been thinking about buying this stuff for awhile now. I think I've even got as far as going to the website and selecting it and getting to my credit card information, and then changed my mind, on three different occassions. But I think I'm going to really try it, since everyone has had great or decent results with it.

By the way has anyone ordered from their website lately, past few days? Because for some reason I get an error message when trying to add the item to the cart.

I know I've posted this on a thousand threads, but I love my MTG blend. I opt to use a spray bottle vs. an applicator bottle to gain better coverage and to avoid dripping on the neck. Some ladies have mentioned breaking out due to that. In a 2 oz bottle, I mix a tablespoon if MTG with about 4 tablespoons of Rosemary Hair Oil from From Nature With Love and I add 10 drops each of lavender, thyme, and cedar essential oils. (I add rosemary too, but it is already in the oil blend.) I don't smell any of the stinkyness and best of all (at least for me) it has cured my dry and itchy scalp.

Enjoy that MTG!
