I know, I know. All the au natural ladies are wondering why? But I have come to this conclusion. It will be better for me to relax and just have to do a shampoo, condition and roller set than go through all the pulling, blowdrying, pressing and then curling with my hair natural.

KinkiKakes has healthy hair with rollersetting and so do alot of other members.

So, wish me well you all.:D

Good luck. Why Motions? Lye..no lye?

that's what my stylist uses and he says he knows about that. Even though i was going to order two Phyto Specifics off the internet for him. $120 bucks.

is it lye?

i forgot. which one is better?

Go with the lye. I really enjoy that one. You will have to give us an update.

Hmmm...are you sure you wanna go with Motions? There was a thread a while back where quite a few ladies expressed their frusration with Motions in which it left their hair VERY underprocessed. Myself included. I gave Motions Super Lye about 3-4 chances and it failed each one. I would look into other relaxers. ORS is very popular and it comes in both Lye and No Lye formulas.

Good luck with your decision to relax. I just have one word of caution. don't make the mistake I made when I was relaxed. Do not let your stylist have complete control over your relaxed hair. If he does something that you don't agree with speak up for yourself. Remember no one loves your hair more than you do.;)

Good luck on using Motions. Rollersets are the bomb. I miss straight relaxed hair rollersets alot. :ohwell: Motions has never straightened my hair but it does a great job texturizing my curly kinks.

I am a Motions texlaxer. I use the oil moisturizer relaxer in regular strength. my hair does not get bone straight. just relax the curl enough that I can wear straight styles without excessive heat. my hair love, love, loves it!!! and i stretch relaxers 12-16 weeks (depending on amount of new growth). Roller sets are my saving grace. I use the orange, purple, or gray rollers depending on what style I am going for.

Well, I'm not sure if he has super or regular. But I will lean to the fact that he has regular. I have been using MTG and I was wondering if my hair will become resistant to the relaxer because I've heard that.

So, he said not to scratch my head a week before. But if I don't wash the MTG out then it may coat my hair. I have to call him to see what else he needs. Plus 1/4 of my hair is relaxed so he will have to be really careful and I have varying textures in my hair too; meaning he will have to time how long he leaves the relaxer on my hair.

Are you looking to texlax or do you want bone straight? If you want bone straight I would look at other options for relaxer. For a texlax, I think it would be fine.

For washing out the MTG, I would say go ahead as long as you wait at least 2-3 days between washing your hair and getting the relaxer done, your scalp should be fine and not irritated. (I would lean more towards the 3 day gap.) You can also base your scalp if you want added protection from burning. A few ladies usually base their scalp the night before and then have the stylist do it again just before the relaxer.

Hope that helps. Good luck!!

I was looking to go Bone straight but of course not till the point where it became overporoused and damaged.

My last stylist used Affirm in mild and it was okay.

I think I might have to call him and make sure Motions will be okay.
