I had been meaning to pick up some at the store for the longest time, and I finally remembered. I got a small can of Goya, I think it was like $1.

So ladies, how do you use it? Straight out of the can? Do you mix it up with stuff? Do you warm it up? How long do you leave it on for? Do you sit under the dryer? Let a sista know!!! :)

I've never used coconut milk but i'll try one day if i ever remember to pick some up. A few months ago I used regular whole milk as a pre-poo mixed with honey and it really really curled my newgrowth very nicely. I had alot of thick dry unruly newgrowth and the milk made it curly and very easy to comb thru. i was very surprised and happy with the results. I said i was going to use the treatment often when i get newgrowth, but i guess i got lazy and i didn't like the milk dripping down my neck either. :ohwell:

but nevertheless....it works....

Well I just stared using it!!! I love it! I used it as a pre-poo!! I put it on with a color brush from roots to ends then I put a plastic bag and did what ever for 30 minutes!! After the thirty minutes was up I sat under the dryer for about 5-10!! Then wased as regular!! Left with soft shiny hair!!

HTH

I use coconut milk for almost every wash - I do NOT shake the can so that the "liquid" and "cream" remain separate and use as follows:

1. wash hair with liquid as pre-poo (I simply "wash" my hair with this and rinse before I do my regular poo wash)
2. mix the "cream" into my conditioner

I use to shake the can before using but found that it would make my conditioner too watery and so I started removing the "creamy lumps" to add to the condish and just use the remainder as a pre-poo so I get the moisturizing benefits before and after my poo! HTH

Hmmm, I'm interested in trying cocunut milk. :scratchch Does it really make that big of a difference??? Do you think it will work well on natural hair?

I think it will work on natural!!

I luuuuuuuv my coconut milk as both a pre-poo treatment and in my conditioners. I think I'm going to thaw mine from the freezer and use it tonight. lol.

Since I started doing braid outs, I've been using coconut milk with my conditioner. The first braid out I did my hair was dry and hard. Then I remembered using coconut milk with my set and flat ironed hair and it came out too oily. Since, I can't be bothered with mixing things, I apply my usual conditioner and slather the coconut milk on top. (on sundays I use heat for 20 minutes and in the middle of the week I condition in the shower) Rinse, apply my John Frieda's and a little coconut oil and braid.

My hair has been coming out really soft and shiny. Although, product junkie that I am, I still can't wait for my order of Akiva Honey and Akiva Milk to arrive.

I'm thinking of using it as a pre-poo treatment instead of the oil.

BTW I heat it up in a pan before I use it. That way if it drips on my body it isn't cold.

Hi,

any natural 4b types, tried this coconut milk and lime combo? If so, I'd like to know the results.
