Smooth edges

Took my daughter to get her hair braided yesterday and the young lady put some sort of pomade on her edges to lay them down. I forgot what she told me she was using. It came in a very short container.

Since I can't remember what she told me I figured I would ask you ladies since you guys have a lot of product knowledge and information.

What do you guys use to smooth your edges?

If it was in a white container with black writing, it is Hicks Edges pomade.
