I always get surprised when I meet young (under 40), intelligent people who smoke. It just amazes me. Smoking is so unattractive and will surely reduce life expectancy. Just last week I lost my father to respiratory arrest due to smoking and COPD. This week an acquaintance (39) passed away from lung cancer and 2 family friends (in their 60s) were diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and given months to live. All of them were former smokers.
I can understand that the addiction is strong, but when you know better, you should strive to do better.
