Do any of you have a favorite that you would recommend? It's been quite a while since I've used one. I used to use cholesterol conditioners or oils or both on dry hair and let is sit for an hour or so. D&L Dry Hair Healer was a favorite.

One that really makes a difference is the NTM mask applied to wet hair as a pre-shampoo and doesn't have to be left on long at all. My hair always comes out unbelievably soft (air-dried too!) no matter what I do after this pre-treatment.

I usually use whatever I have on-hand that i'm trying to get rid of. Mostly cholesterols, Africa's Best hair mayo, honey mixed w/ evoo, coconut milk.

I love your hair by the way. Beautiful!!

Awww, thanks. :)

Hey, I think I used to have some of that Africa's Best Hair Mayo. I don't know what I did with it, but I'm sure I never used it. I used to be a really bad PJ and didn't get around to using many things that I would buy. :ohwell:

Maybe I'll get some and actually use it...

I always use conditioner (whatever I have) honey and olive oil. Luv, luv, luv this combo.

ETA I do this on dry hair.

Hey Supergirl. i like plain old Amla Oil (the Dabur brand) it serves me well :D VERy well infact

Not trying to Hi-jack this thread but wouldnt a pre-shampoo treatment rinse out when you shampoo your hair? It seems like the cuticles would just open up from the warm water and then the shampoo would wash away whatever you just put in.

It does rinse away, but it still does something for your hair. I don't really understand how--I just know that my hair feels diff. at the end when I've done a pre-poo than when I have not.

I'm thinking of using GPB since they say to use it on dry hair it seems the best place for it would be then (maybe mix it with EVOO and honey)

I use Keraphix +any oil, Sometes I add some Humectress to it.I am going to buy some honey to add to it. I used to use Aveda Sap Moss pre-poo concentrate. It's REALLY good. It's just that I have all of this Nexxus that I have to finish off.

Amla oil, EVOO coconut milk and your favorite conditioner or the one you're trying to finish will do. does wonders to the hair.

I like to use a mixture of EVOO and Jojoba, it's my fave. I do this once a week for an hour. I also like to use Jamaican Castor Oil, I usually use this once a month and I sleep with a plastic cap.

I like to use Suave Milk & Honey mixed with some Jamaican black castor oil or
evoo, jojoba and castor oil both work great for my hair.

I'm guessing it acts a buffer when you are shampooing so you're left with more of your hair's natural oils.

Interesting thread. I love pre-pooing. LeKair works great and I'm experimenting with Amla oil too. I just picked up some Aubrey O and I have to give that a try too. So many products so little time...
