Okay this is a crazy question, I just dont know the answer to so here goes....

How do you tell if one has newgrowth? I cannot tell for the life of me if I have newgrowth or not. My hair is thick as can be and wavy, and I just can't tell. I will try to add a picture or something so you can see the texture of my hair. I don't even know if Im 1,2,3,4,5 with A,B,C,D, or E. What do you all think?

(this is just the ends of when I cut a month or so ago.) But you can kind of see the waves.

I have a hard time with this too, especially when I slick the hair back in a pony to airdry; it smoothes the waves out so that the new growth wave is almost identical to the relaxed wave. This problem rectifies itself when I'm in the shower or do some physical activity, this causes the new growth to revert then I can see it better.

Is your hair natural or relaxed? If you're relaxed, it's much easier to detect new growth.

Last relaxer was August, I did my own and well it didnt turn out well. I think "underprocessed" but that was the last chemical relaxer I had. I have been trying to go natural, I cut off a bit a month ago, and have been slowing transitioning.
