Lots of you are loving this relaxer. I'm considering it so I want to know: Who's using it? What strength are you using? What's your hair type? Thanks ladies.

Love the entire line  I use the reg strength relaxer and I've had nothing but excellent results each time i've used it.

I jumped on the Silk Elements bandwagon too! I used the regular lye but I probably needed the mild. It burned when I started smoothing so I had to rinse out immediately!! Still got bone straight results and no scabs or loss hair!! I still have regular left over so I will either add coconut oil to the mix, give it to my best friend, or just not smooth after applying. My first time using was Aug 9th and it is gonna be a keeper! HTH:grin:

On yea, I have combo hair, 4a at the crown and 3c in the front and nape. I started in the crown, put on the hairline and nape last. My hair is very silky to the touch and medium thickness, definately not thin. I was using Motions lye regular before and was more texlaxed than RELAXED:lachen:

Love this relaxer. So far this is the only lye relaxer (so far) that straightens my hair and keeps it straight.

I use Silk Elements regular lye, 4a/4b...

I am seriously considering writing a letter to Silk Elements to see if I can be their newest spokesmodel because I love this line so much. I have fine/medium 4b hair and I use the lye, regular strength. The first time I use it in May, it got me bone straight in 17. I just got it retouched last week and it only took 15 minutes. So I say try it, it's definitely worth it.

I used the Mild, but it left me way underprocessed in parts. After a corrective, it straightened some, but I am going to use regular when I relax again. I love that it didn't burn or smell strong.

I just relaxed with Silk Elements Lye Mild, and I love it!!! My hair type is 4b with fine/medium textured hair. No burning, or smell!!!

I'm gonna beat ya'll down for making me want to try this relaxer. :D

I'm nervous about what strength to use because mild is working for some of you fine 4a/b hair types and regular is working for others with the same hair type.

I used the reg Lye formula. I have 4a/b hair, I experienced no burning, after I rinsed this out my hair was very soft. I experienced very little shedding and no dryness. It made my hair very strai8 in 15 minutes, I had to rinse out quickly, the next time I'll use the mild formula.

I am a 4-B with Fine hair. I use the regular strength for 15 minutes rinse then use a protien conditioner for 5 minutes then neutralize so total processing time is 20 minutes. I like that it doesn't smell or burn. I add olive oil to mine.

ME!

Used super but that was WAY too strong. It worked after like 5 minutes to straighten! I'm scared now that I overprocessed b/c every lye relaxer took forever to get me straight. I'm contemplating using the regular or even the mild next time around. But I LOVE IT!!

I'm 4a/4b and I used regular for 15 min. I can do my hair as well as a pro but cheaper:grin: I can't keep my hands out of my hair. The 4 lb tub is on sale this month for $9.99:eek:

When does it goe off? I use the one for Coarse hair, Lye

I'm 4b with thick, wirey hair. I use coarse but I've realized that, that's definately too strong (in the past that's what stylists have always used). Although, I don't have to try as hard to smooth out my hair.

I'm a 4a with fine strands, but a lot of them and I use the Regular Lye. I didn't have to smooth much and(with the exception of a small patch behind my ear) I got SCRAIGHT! Also this was the first relaxer lye or no-lye that didn't burn the crap outta my scalp. I burned mildly in maybe 2-3 places that I had scratched that day and even then the scabs were gone after the first wash about 4 days later. My hair wasn't stuck to my head and nobody could walk by and tell that I had just permed. I love this line and pray that they NEVUH stop making it.

I'm gonna do a friends hair with it in another week or so, and she has Bantu Super for 15 minutes hair, so that will be the true test of this relaxer.

me me me!
so far rollersets have been a breeze for me, I can do my whole head in 10-15min thanks to S E
*eta: my hair also still has a slight wave to it, I'm really liking this and plan to experiment with wash and go's again :yep:

Dee did you use Mild or Regular?

Thank you sooo much ladies for these responses. Y'all are THE BEST. Many positive results. I'll try it for my next touchup. Maybe we'll see B_Phlyy on the next box

I love this line also. I use regular but I'm considering mild for the cooler months because it really gets the hair straight.

I saw that tub for 9.99 and I left quickly because I'm trying to stretch and if I bought it, I wouldn't be stretching for long!! Anyone like the oil moisturizing lotion? I bought that a while ago but it was too heavy for my hair when dry so I pulled it back out and put it on my hair wet... My hair feels really good!

Same here, except I leave the regular formula on for about 20-25 minutes. It still doesn't get me bone straight, but that's OK with me. I touched up last Saturday, and I did burn a little, but that's because I was rushing and got some relaxer on my scalp. This was my 2nd go-round with SE Regular. I like it so far, but I'm really tempted to try the ORS No-Lye when I run out of the SE....it just sounds like a great product!
