I relaxed my hair last Saturday for the first time in 9 months. While my roots got straight, the rest of my new growth on the sides did not. So I did a corrective today, not putting any of the relaxer on my scalp and working it through the rest of the new growth. I rinsed, I washed, I conditioned with the Megasilk Conditioner(I let it sit in my head under a plastic cap for an hour) and all I can say is WOW! My hair is so soft and moisturized it's ridiculous! I did not burn, and my bathroom did not smell like perm! Love it love it loooove it!! So I had to come on here and rave about it too!

I am glad you had a wonderful experience. Where else apart from Sallys is this relaxer sold? Has any NYers seen this in regular the BSS?

Well that sucks.:(

You must not have a Sally's in your area? I'm not sure of how a relaxer should be shipped, but if you requested this in the Product Exchange section maybe someone could ship it to you? Or am I crazy?

they should red, all sally's should have the same policy.
That's what I thought but I saw a thread a while ago about someone who went to purchase the relaxer and was told that she couldn't without a license.

Welcome to the Silk Elements Relaxer Club:lachen: I was so surprised that it didn't smell bad that I thought it wouldn'd work. The local Sally's has trouble keeping it in stock it's so popular.

No in NY we do not have alot of Sallys. The nearest one is way too far for me. I didn't request it yet in the Product Exchange section.

You may be able to find it at an asian beauty suppy. You'd be shocked at what u can find at these places.

Silk Elements really seems to be developing a following. Glad you had success with it.

They sell this in lye and both no lye formulas right?? I went today and only saw the no lye. (box) I want the lye. The lady who works at the branch I went to today is such a troll that I wouldn't ask her about. I will wait to go to the one close to my job. It's sad to say, but sometimes you get the worse service from your own people.

Yes, that one has the lye. You can also buy smaller tubes for like $3.99.

Thanks a lot B Phlyy. I have a lot of hair. REally thick. Do you think one of the smaller tubs will do it? (I can't really judge for myself since I have never seen it and dont know what the size is.)
Thanks again.

Thanks so much for the reply.

I recently purchased this product from the Sally's in Missouri. It worked a little to well. I put it on my hair but did not keep in on long because I did not want it bone straight. Guess what- it came out bone straight. It even straightened this small patch of hair that for some reason or another is usually resistant to perm. I've been using Mizani, however, I throwing it away. I did nothing for my hair.

That happened to me too, It gets my hair bone str8 fast, so next time I am goin to add about two tbsp of evoo to it, you might wanna try that next time.

I used Silk Elements tonight, I did a patch test with it. So far, pretty impressive! I'll post a full review next week when I do my entire head. I must say that my hair feels soft and I have a nice curl pattern. I also notice that my hair doesn't feel dry, I used regular strenght and processed for 17 minutes.

Yeah, this happened to me too. I used regular and left it on for 18 minutes and my hair was bone straight. I used to leave Motions on for 27 minutes and it was underprocessed.

I'm on my 11th week post-relaxer and I went to my local Sally's and bought the Silk Elements regular lye. My best friend will be over on Saturday to help with the relaxer, I definately will be looking for great results cause my hair is laughing at Motions. :lachen:

Just adding my 2 cents.....

Tried SE Lye for Coarse hair b/c every lye relaxer before left me underprocessed. Well, it left me BONE straight. So next time I will try regular.

My very quick review:

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My hair has NEVER felt so silky and soft after a relaxer!! PLUS, no chemical smell AND despite it being super, NO burnssssssssssssss. I couldn't believe it--- esp. since I had wet and blow dried my hair literally 7 HOURS before. Ladies I'm not exaggerating at all.

I air dried and wore my hair out. It was swinging and soft I tell you! People couldn't believe I air dried.

I'm so happy I finally found a good relaxer I could cry ya'll. And it's CHEAP!

Anyway, besides the too-straight look, I will definitely be keeping this for as long as they make it. Buying the tub next!

Buy this relaxer people! I don't want any reason for Sally's to stop making it--- show them you like it! LOL.

ETA: I was kicking myself for not listening to Jasmin went she first raved about it a while ago. I would have saved myself so much heartache. Thanks Jasmin!

I think I'm single handedly the reason the keep Silk Elements in stock in my area. I love this line.

Not one to say 'told you so', but WE TOLD YOU SO!! B_Phlyy, Priestess and meself are screaming the praises of this line from the rooftops ain't we?

SILK ELEMENTS ROCKS!!! Now tear yourselves away from LHCF for a minute and shoot the good people of Sally an e-mail begging them to NEVUH discontinue this line, puh-leeze.
