Silk Elements Lye???? First time self relaxer!!

I bought silk elements lye relaxer from sallys about 3 weeks ago, now that my hair is healthy and I'm ready to relax I'm worried about whether or not I should use lye or no-lye and if I do go ahead with my relaxer, does anyone have any advice on how I should do it (what to use as a base, what shampoo to use for washing it out, etc.)???

I would use the neautralizing shampoo that SE makes or some type preferably with a color indicator. I don't base myself b/c I do not burn. Maybe someone else can chime in also.
