Think Slim
For me...

1. I have to pull my hair out of my shirt, blouse or coat, because it's always caught in the collar.

2. I have to pull my hair back when I eat, otherwise I end up with a strand in my mouth :barf:

3. I can pull ALL of my hair into a ponytail.

All of the above AND after I finish my wash routine I can feel my hair on my back. Oh, and when I make a bun I have to wrap the ends around almost three times before I tuck them in.

For me...
1. When I can't do an updo that I could do before because of length.

2. When I can fling my hair back over my shoulder and it stays back

3. When my wet hair is resting at the bottom of my neck

Great post webby!

For me:
1. I think something is crawling on my neck and it's my hair that I am trying to swat at

2. The DH keeps saying how much it has grown and likes pulling it... OK, I was headed to TMI territory

3. When I am doing a rollerset and it seems like my hands are WAY ABOVE my head to put the rollers in. It's like "dang, why are my arms so high?"

* i have this small patch of hair at the nape of my neck that i twirl out of habit. when its time to cut that piece i know that my hair has grown at least 1/2 to 1 inch.

For me, when I have a very curled bit of hair, at the side of my temple and I unloose it and my hair stretches nearly to the middle of my ear. Or the middle of my hair stretches comfortably, past the nape of my neck.

1. My hair keeps getting caught on my purse strap and seatbelt.

2. My hair is longer than my arms will extend while rollersetting.

3. I have to wear my hair in a ponytail while brushing my teeth, or I'll get toothpaste in my hair.

I started the year with .. a layered short flipped do ..

in the summer I had it cut off to a blunt ear length cut ..

it now lays on my shoulders and in the back of my head ,slightly passed shoulders....

3 hairstyles in one year .. now that's growth! LOL

For me it seems like it takes forever to braid and also my arms get tired because I am styling my hair too long. I have to put my hair up in a ponytail when I'm washing my face or it will get all wet and ruin my braidout or pin curled style.

1. Gets caught in the car door when you close it (happened last week)
2. purse strap
3. it's starting to take even more time twisting/braiding my hair at night.

1. people are asking "So your letting your hair grow long"
2. it's starting to touch my shoulders
3. my stylist asked "didnt I just cut your hair"
4. my friend asked, So when has your hair been this length?

For me:

I have to throw my hair foward and back to keep it from getting caught under my coat.

I can hide underneath it like the daughter from The Incredibles. :D

The biggest alligator clip cannot hold all my hair together (when it's really thick, pieces of hair keep coming loose).

My friends tell me how great my hair is even though I look like i slept in the gutter.

1. When your hair gets caught in the seat belt.
2. When you become a Product Junkie and won't let just any product touch your hair.
3. Guys describe you as the friend "with the long hair. "
4. Men want to touch it and run their fingers through your hair while the women look at it hard to see if it's real or a weave.

same here! along with having to extend your arms farther when rolling each section of hair on a roller for rollersets! ;)

1.I can't use my favorite clip anymore.Too much hair sticks out
2.My SO gets a mouthful of hair when I lie on his chest(TMI I know!)

All that and when people tell me that my hair looks like its getting longer (otherwise i never notice).

I thought about starting this thread yesterday, what a coincidence. Ditto to all of the above. In addition:

1) Having to use a different method to shampoo hair ( no more just piling it up on top of my head).
2) Being able to pull it into a high ponytail and actually have hair left hanging.
3) Having to use bigger rollers to get a loose curl.
4) Getting my hair caught in my book bag strap.
5) Comments from others.

Last time I got a press (summer 2004), at three of my cousins started touching my hair (searching for tracks) within a minute after seeing me.

Oh...how did I forget these two. My hair gets caught in the car door and one single strand is enough to have me

  1. braiding my hair and having to pull the section of hair in front of me so I can finish braiding it.
  2. feels heavier when wet
  3. getting hair caught in the car's seatbelt
  4. comments turn towards my hair when visiting relatives and hands start moving towards my head

--Caught in zippers
--everytime I sit down especially in car and lean back it pulls on the middle of back,so I can't lean back or either have to pull all to the front
-- Was in club one night, holding my drink and looked down, my hair was in drink..embarassing.
--babies pulling it
--the crazy silent stares whenever I walk by two or more women.
--The "Are you Mixed" question

Feeling a sense of relief when I can put my hair up when I come home after having worn my hair down for the whole day because my hair is very heavy.
Hearing people say: your hair is really long now!
Realizing that when I wear two braids they are now bra strap - that means my hair is much longer than that because braiding my hair makes it look shorter.

For the first time ever, someone has commented (positively) on my hair. On friday my best friend was like, "your hair has improved and its longer". I felt like dancing. Now, i can wear my hair down confidently

I cannot continue braiding my one braid from the back, I have to bring it around to the side or my arms will start to hurt.

Now I can swing my single braid around to the front and look at it.

Now I can can check for splits just by picking my hair up and looking at the ends.

Very early last year there were two ladies in my class who had hair that was longer than mine... Their hair was about bra strap length. Now mine has passed theirs by at least 3 inches. Back then their hair seemed sooooo long to me...In other words Im passing people who I never even thought I'd come close to.

The shedding hairs are longer than the length of my hand.

I have to wash in 4 sections now.

I can pull a braid down from the back and my arms don't hurt.

my wigs do not fit correctly anymore because there is too much hair under it.

I guess this is the only way to get myself out of denial that my hair is growing. There are a few ladies at work who's hair was a few inches past shoulders while I was still at shoulder length. This was last year. To see that their hair NOW is still the same length, and my hair has surpassed theirs by an inch or two proves my progress!!

The only thing I can think of is the hair that used to end up coming out of my ponytail(left side) by the end of the day, no longer comes out. :yay:

My Aunt asking me "Is all that your hair" and then pulling it to see.
I'm transitioning so my new natural roots are getting longer and longer.....
