I don't experience a great deal of shrinkage when I wet my hair, only a little bit. I don't even think I can comb my hair in a decent afro. But I look at my hair and other naturals and my hair type is not the same. It's coarse at the roots and as it gets longer I have curls, not silky ones though. Does it mean that its unhealthy? :perplexed

Oh no not at all. It just means that you dont have alot of shrinkage. I WISH that shrinkage meant healthy hair because I have about 300% shrinkage -- seriously . My hair is pretty healthy but shrinkage doesnt have anything to do with it. I'd say that you are A- Okay :). -- jainygirl

Muchas gracias. I was so confused and I didn't know what was going on. I'm even more confused about my actual hair type. I'm not sure I know what it is.

no, it certainly does not mean your hair is unhealthy! everyone has different levels of shrinkage....so, as long as your hair is shrinking at your hair's particular rate, then youre doin great! now if for some reason your hair loses its elasticity, then i think its time to worry...
