The day I BCed I did not care at all about my relaxed hair anymore. It was so liberating and fun, chopping all that hair off, I wish I could relive it again.

I was 19 months post, though, so I was able to wear it in a bun the day after if I didn't feel comfortable with it yet. How much hair do you have now? How do you plan on wearing it?

If you're still too attached to your hair I'd advise against it. Otherwise I say go for it, because being natural is fantastic.

im only 4 months post, my new growth is ridiculously thick and super wavy i love it.

but my stupid permed ends are sooo ugly now. i already got it cut down some, and i can see the growth.
but i dont think it grew enough to bc it.

its in my blog, the pics of my hair

:yay: :yay: DO IT! DO IT! :yay: :yay:

Don't be scared! There's nothing to be scared of... your hair will grow back in no time! :yep:

If you're truly scared then don't do it. Just wait a little until you get to a comfortable place with your natural hair growth. Ignore peer pressure because at the end of the day, you're the only one that has to wear it. ;)

If you aren't ready, then don't do it. You will only regret. All three times that I cut in the past, I was ready. I was maybe a little anxious, kind of like when you are slowly going up on a rollercoaster, anticipating the drop. I was a little scared, but I still wanted to do it. I wasn't screaming for someone to get me off this {insert cuss word here} thing. When you're ready, you'll know. :yep: Good luck in your hair journey!!

lol im too scared? what will i do with it?

Get over your fear! I know you're thinking, "Better said than done, Poohbear!" :drunk:

And that's the beauty of big chopping... you don't have to really do anything with it. Just keep it moisturized and nicely shaped. ;)

See that's the thing, a big part of me is like just cut it. but then my hair is sooo thick it doesn't curl, its just like wavy with water and eco styler. lol this is so nerve wrecking.

Every morning I look at my hair and touch my new growth. And then force myself away from the scissors. I love my curlies! I do not love my relaxed hair. I love my length. I do not love the schedules and needs of relaxed hair. My relaxed hair isn't as healthy as it could be. I want to start over. If you agree with any of the things I said, you should consider transitioning or BC. You can go under weaves and slowly trim until your ng is at a length that doesn't bother you. But if you feel you relaxed ends are ugly, I think it's time for a change. Nothing drastic. And no rush.

neisharenae You NG probably will curl when you cut it. Of course you can't be sure but my waves turned to curls.

Cut a small test patch in an unnoticable area and see if you comfortable with the length and pattern enough to cut.

As a BC'er I say bite the bullet and do it if this is truly what you want to do. Doesn't sound like it because you are hesitant.

The only thing id say is think about where you live. If its cold you might not want to adjust to a new hair where you'll be wetting it more often. Other than that, I think the most fun time being natural is after the BC. So fresh and liberating.

If you are scared, not just a little nervous, but really scared I would say you should wait. Four months of growth is going to be very short and you need to be ready for that reality.
