Short/Thin Hair Line or Edges

I have been doing the crown and glory method for about 2yrs now. My crown area has not been braided for 3 to 4 yrs.because of past hair pulling in this area, which lead to a short hair line.My hair line has not grown in length, it still remains short in length compared to the rest of my hair.Has anyone had success in improving this issue?If so, what was your regimen.

I've tried with no success. Mine is the opposite of yours. Mine will grow in length but it extremely thin on my temples.
