Where can I purchase some short hairsticks aroung 4.5 inches long?

What kind are you looking for? Here are some suggestions for buying on line:

Argus Designs makes hair sticks in a variety of lengths, including 4.5":

(I don't know anything about the quality of the Argus wooden hair sticks, but I've heard the metal ones are okay.)

Here are some interesting wooden hair sticks that you can get at a 4 3/4" size:

Also, Ron Quattro makes a variety of hair sticks from 4" (I think he calls these "shorties") and up. He has metal ones (steel) and some that are unique, but the shorter ones I'm referring to are wood, I believe. He sells on ebay. You can scroll through to see what he has:

Then there are the Mei Fa hairstyx, made short and long (not sure of the exact sizes) that can be found here (scroll down and see following pages):
