If you have this product let me know how you use it and if it works for you. thanks..................

:hiya: I have used it, but I haven't been able to make it work for my hair. :nono:There are some ladies here who use it and love. Maybe they will chime in soon.

I really like it a lot but I only use it b/t a prepoo and a DC. Otherwise I imagine it might feel a little drying.

If you are refering to the shikakai shampoo bar, I absolutely adore it. :) The trick to it is to use a very moisturizing conditioner afterward. I use tresemme, the moisturizing vitamin e one. I tried some other conditioners as well but nothing left my hair as soft as this one after the shikakai. It felt as soft as a new relaxer. Me likey.

Yes, you need a cood moisturizing conditioner I use capilo avocado. I used the bar today after my touch up. My stylist was suprised. She has never used something like it. fels like you have a force field around your hairs.

This is the only shampoo I've ever used that I actually don't need much conditioner after I use it. The trick for me is to oil my hair first and then wash. I use natural butters after I wash, though. But I've done that for a long time and always needed a lot of conditioner anyway. Next time I wash, I'm going to see if I can skip the conditioner altogether and just use oils, the shampoo bar and hemp seed butter.

I'm trying out my bar tonight when I wash my hair. I'm glad I came in this thread. I didn't know that you should condition after you've shampood with it. I deep condition and oil rinse before shampooing.

I have this soap and tried it once. I can't recall the outcome. Anyway, are you ladies forming a lather in your hands and then applying it to the hair or what? Please share your technique for application.

I lather it in my hands and then put it in my hair. I've never run the bar down the length of my hair or over my scalp, but I suppose that is another option.

I run it on my hair like bath soap (btw it is bath soap) I used it on my face for the past few days and Im loving the glow.

I tried it but the sop that I tried didnt really make any lather so I wound up putting it on my hair- it was a disaster. I wont do that again. I suspect that the bar soaps need some for of lime or lye to solidify'
Ill stick to the hair brew/tea with shikakai, amla, brahmi and aritha. Love scritching!!!:master:

I agree with you. I use the tresemme b5 conditioner and my hair was just as soft. Last week I use mane n tail moisturising conditioner and I believe my hair was soft but not as soft as the tresemme one. I use this shampoo bar every week because I want my scalp to be clean. It's very little suds, and then it disappears. My hair is very soft/conditioned/strong after use.

ITA! Just like the powders, I think the key is to do a prepoo/oil bath first and then use the shampoo bar. "Technically" you wont need a conditioner afterwards because of the prepoo/oil bath, but surely you can still use a conditioner afterwards.

i agree with pree pooing or dc ing before using the soap cause i can imagi ne it cud be drying same as the aritha soap i dc before i poo then use a cheap con after

Is the soap red in color like the kind in the Indian Markets?

Hey guys... I have yet to jump onto this new hair trend, but I'm reading and learning more about it. Anyway, I found a site that sells this hair soap. http://www.smallflower.com/shikakai/shikakai-hair-soap-2.62-oz-bar.html It costs under 2 dollars for 1 bar. I'm not sure if this is a deal or not, but I figured I'd share the info!

I just used the Swastik Shikakai bar for the first time on Sunday. I loved the strength that my hair had.

I then oil rinsed with Vatika Oil.

Next, after my hair air dried, I put a mixture of henna and yogurt on my hair for about 3 hours.

Then conditioned.

Beautiful, straightened, strong, healthy and full of volume.

It's a keeper.

I used the bar two days ago for the first time. Is it normal to for the scalp to be itching. :nono: I used the Navratna oil on my scalp and that was the only thing that calmed it. My hair also feels really dry. I used Mane-N-Tail as a conditioner. I also used NTM silk touch as a leave in, but my hair is so dry that I thought maybe I did something out of order. Am I having an allergic reaction or is this normal? Please advise!

For the dryess issue. Did you Pre-Poo with Coconut, Alma or JBCO first. It does help. Afterwards you need a good Moisturizing Deep Conditioner. I use Capilo Avocado Conditioner. Some People have been saying the get itchy.. Hmmm I wonder if it has something to do with the amount of rinsing?

I did a prepoo with Amla oil. I'm going to co-wash tonight and see what happens. If my scalp feels better, it is probably a reaction to the soap. Since my scalp didn't turn red, I just figured it the soap was too drying. I picked up some Aubrey's conditioner last night. I have to get through this bottle before I buys something else. I'll try the Capilo next.

I love what this does for my scalp and hair but I am getting contact dermatitis on my back and neck... it is an awful rash. The only way I think that I can effectively use this is if I use this in the sink. Carefully...I can imagine tangles everywhere.......But I am going to try somehow to keep this in my weekly routine.
