Shelf life of a perm

Hello all,
I bought an Affirm perm (the mild one - Fiberguard) sometime ago. I am wondering if it is still OK to use it

Is there any information out there on how long a perm will last? I bought it last year.

I've searched the Internet relentlessly trying to find this out, but to no avail. I also just purchased a tub of it and I have no idea how long it will be good. I've heard 1 yr, but I really don't know for sure.
