How do you tell the difference?

I was oiling my hair and I noticed some hair coming out. I am not sure why though. :ohwell:

Shed hair will have a white 'bulb' on one end - meaning that it naturally fell out of the follicle to make room for a brand new hair. The strand is also usually roughly the same length as your hair.

Broken hair won't have the bulb on the end, and it tends to be shorter than the average strand on your head.

The bulb is tiny, so you have to look close (I hold the ends up to the computer screen) and it should look like a 'swelling' on one end of your hair.
