Since join LHCF I have had a great growing experience...until now. Today I was my wash day and when I started to comb my hair clobs and clobs of hair came out. I looked in my drain and I see yet another glob of hair. Now I havent combed my hair since my last wash day, which was wednesday. Im not sure if this is a normal amount, winter shedding, or am I just shedding excessively. Ladies, please look at the pics and tell me. I am freaking out!!!

Seeing how your are shoulder length and even though your hair looks very thick I think that i a lot of shedding for 4 days. It may be seasonal shedding. With all the chages in the weather it may be effecting your hormones. Hang in there.:)

I feel your pain, everytime I wash my hair I wanna cry.

I'm right there with you guys. I think it's seasonal though. I just went through the same thing starting in Dec. Hair everywhere. It just recently stopped. Hang in there, it will stop, I promise. {{{hugs}}}

That looks like a lot of hair to me for only for days...I agree with other posters...it could be seasonal shedding. Perhaps while you hair is shedding like this you could use protective styles to prevent unecessary manipulation.:perplexed I hope is stops soon because your hair is really pretty.

don't worry too much. the same thing happened to me in november. i had soo much unexplained shedding. i had no idea why. you have to take into consideration the fact that you have not combed your hair in 4 days and they say that we should shed 70-100 strands per day....that seems a bit much but that is what i have read. hopefully, this shedding will pass and with some good old tlc you'll be back on track in no tme:)

My shedding month was November also. I wanted to cry every time I washed.

Oh trust me, you will still have it. If it is seasonal shedding and not shedding from the result of medicines, illness, pregnancy, or something else, it shall cease in a few weeks. Nothing to worry about. I found that stressing over it did make it worse though.

:cry2: :cry2: :cry2: :cry2: :cry2: I am crying for you too girl. I started to freak out and it ain't even my hair. But it has to be seasonal shedding and the fact that you haven't combed in four days. Hang in there

OMG...I was shedding like crazy in November too. It was embarassing leaving hair everywhere I went. I'm glad it has passed. I was really nervous about it.

I think that is a bit much. When was the last time you relaxed? Are you doing a longer than normal relaxer stretch?

I am not gonna tell u tha its seasonal shedding nor 4 days without combin ur hair tha looks like a lot of abnormal shedding.

The salon might have something best fits the needs of ur hair.
DEMETOLOGIST might need to take a trip.Honestly i never saw tha much hair like tha before,and i went a whole month without combin my hair.

Try not to stress it. I know it's hard not to worry but it will cease & you'll still have hair. I just finished going thru post-partum shedding and I still have hair and believe me I lost tons of hair. I would however try protective styling & little manipulation.

Thank you all for your kind words. They really meant a lot to me.This morning I went to comb my hair and it was only like 10 - 15 long hairs. I didnt sleep at all last night but someone brought something to my attention.

Im not sure how many christians are on here, but Im about to let you all in on something that woke me up. Im not a religious person but I do have a relationship with Christ. When I began to tell my mentor about my shedding she kind of opened my eyes to something. If any of you read the bible you know that God is a severly jealous God and HE doesnt like any idols to be set before him. Well HE showed me that thats exactly what I was doing with my hair. I was fawning over it. I was doing everything to care for it and nourish it. i was giving it more attention than I was anything else in my life. HE showed me that I was more diligent in my hair care regimen than I was in seeking HIS face and reading HIS word. And as a result HE began to allow my hair to shed so that HE would again be the main focus in my life. Yes, a the word tells us that a woman's hair is her crown and glory, but if that crown and glory sets itself up against GOD HE has no choice but to remove it. Man, talk about a wake up. Because it was all true. I immediately began to repent and pray an earnest prayer of forgiveness and this morning my hair stop shedding abnormally.

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your words of encouragement.
