That's what my hair is going. It is driving me crazy...I dont know if it is becuse it is summer or because of this blanket of new growth I have, but it's really not cool. Please tell me others are having increased shedding due to the season..or this is really normal for some when they have alot of new growth. Ahhhhhhh..I guess it's time to spend money on that Nutrine I've been hearing about or something else, this is not going to work

Ooooo- I wouldn't necessarily try Nutrine. I think ajamericandiva had a very bad experience with it.

Try using castor oil instead. Also - if you are into taking supplements I believe MSM helps with shedding.

I feel your pain though, I used to shed a lot too. I don't know what stopped it though , otherwise I would add that to my recommendation as well.

I have come castor oil in right now. After I washed tonight I used Infusium leave in, breakfree, and a little castor oil and shea butter. I'll see how it turns out in the middle of the day tomorrow when I comb it...It scared the heck out of me because i was combing and each time i pulled the comb through, I got a cotton ball size of hair in the comb. Needless to say it didnt take me too long to put the comb down.

I shed alot in the winter. But when I have a lot of new growth my loose hairs get caught in my thick new growth, so when I wash/cond. and do a comb out I end up with more hair thatn usual. But in actuality its normal shedding that didnt get a chance to leave my hair completly, without getting caught in the thickness. Does that make sense? I combat this by deep conditioning a lot with a moisturizing condtioner. I also try to blow out my root right before a touch up so i can get all the excess hair out..

Dang girl, that would scare me too. If I think of something else I'll post it. I think I saw some other info but I can't rember who posted it.

Yea - I would have put the comb down too.

Oh - and this just may be a precursor to a huge growth surge too (let's think positive thoughts

).

Don't feel bad, I've been shedding like crazy for the past week. But I think I pinned down what changed. I stopped my carrot juice about 2 weeks ago. First thing in the morning I'm goin to the store to get my carrot juice.

I'm shedding too, but mine is postpartum shedding. I ran for the castor oil and have been applying it to my scalp about every two days or so after my surge. Even if it doesn't stop the shedding, at least I know the newgrowth will come in thicker and make up for the shedding.
