I'm sorry about your disappointment. How long was your stretch? You hair seems wet in the pics so perhaps when it's dry you'll like the results better.

finished relaxing... unhappy with results of my stretch. just want to cut it all off:sad:. mad nape breakage. I need some words of encouragement.. feeling down.

BTW, pics are in my fotki http://public.fotki.com/janaq2003

Don't feel down. We all suffer setbacks from time to time. Just when I thought I'd finally get my hair to a health state, I overdosed on protein and my hair has been breaking ever since. Don't cut it all off; just nurse it back to health. Everything will be fine.

By the way, your fotki says the folder is empty.

I was thinking th same way. In the pics your hair is wet and its not combed out so it appears uneven. I still see progress though. Maybe you should comb it out, dry your hair and take another pic after it has been styled. Keep up the good work.

The nape looks like it is growing at the same rate as the rest of your hair. I peeked at your other pics and the nape was thin as well. I think all you need is a little TLC with the nape and you'll be happy in a couple months. I don't think the nape breakage is as severe as you perceive.

Cheer up. :bighug: You'll start to like/love your hair better with time. I peeked in your fotki and it doesn't look bad to me, it's just wet. Take the stress off your nape (maybe the braids were stressing that area) and improve your moisture/protein balance.

Being here on this forum with so many gorgeous heads of hair make those without anxious and sad from time to time, but remember this is a journey.
I've been in your shoes; so have countless others, but the point is you WILL see an improvement so hang in there.

The average turnaround to see your own personal best takes 2 years.

I've had so many set backs I can't count 'em. :nono:

I just started seeing a difference this month and I have been here since Oct '06.

Awww. :bighug:

Tell us what you did during your stretch. Maybe we can help you figure out some things, and make it easier for you next time. I had to learn through setbacks and errors. So use our experiences to help you along the way.

My nape was JACKED up at the beginning of my hair journey. I co-washed frequently and lightly cornrowed it from ear to ear to keep it protected. That helped tremendously. But remember, it takes time.

Also, if it is uneven, try lightly trimming it for the next few touch-ups.

Don't worry girl I didn't like how my hair look when I first get a fresh relaxer it looks flat but that's when I use to perm my hair every six weeks and magically my hair becomes so much fuller the next time I wash it. Also your hair is wet don't worry about dry your hair curl it with rollers or curling iron and see how it looks then. I don't know the longer the stretch for me the better for my hair everyone is different.

Don't worry you will be ok, just baby your hair it will get better. I had a setback also not sure if it was from stretching or stress from daily life. I just cute the thin parts and kept it moving by bunning and moisturizing. I was mad b/c all the work I put into my hair but I'm going to continue doing what took me to get to APL to get me to BSL.

GOOD LUCK & HAPPY HAIR GROWING

It's hard to compare the results of the wet hair and the dry wrap in 11/07. Have you had a trim/cut since then? If not, that's probably why you think your hair is thinner. You've had nice growth though, so cheer up.
