Okay, so I ordered Bantu LYE relaxer from paynesbeautysupply.com and the IDIOTS sent me the wrong relaxer. They send me the NO LYE one. I just got the relaxer last night so by the time I got a chance to open the box the nearest BSS store was closed.

So today I rush off of work and RAN (literally, I ran, I have no car) to the BSS and it was closed for July fourth!!:wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

Nothing is working right in my favor. I have been was wanting to relax for a few days now because my head looks like a BUSH! I mean I can't do much to it. This goes deeper than my hair because right now I am not feeling myself physically. So it has been hard for me to walk around looking like this plus my hair doesn't look right either. My hair is dry, my face is breaking out, and it's hot as hell around here. Okay that is a little off topic but you get my drift. I am so pissed! I had everything laid out ready to relax and everything.

Should I wait it out or try this no lye relaxer?!?!

ETA: Either way I am out of money because the cost to ship it back would be more than the relaxer is worth. So I would end up losing money. This really sucks!

I think you should wait. You'll be able to get the right relaxer tomorrow and your hair is worth an extra days' wait, right? :)

Your right Hairlove.

I am so mad at paynesbeautysupply. Then they got the nerve to send me some Dr. Miracles samples. I was really heated then!

I think you should wait. And also, they should pay for the return shipping since it was their fault!

Can you go to a drugstore and get one of the best no lye relaxers they've got there?

Can you press it until tomorrow?

What is the diff between Lye and No Lye?

BTW, I know how you are feeling in regards to not feeling yourself physically. I look and feel like crap and all I want to do is hide out at the house.

Ohh and if the shipment mix up was their fault, they need to eat cheese and pay for the shipment and mail you the right product.

I'm sorry to hear that! I've always had positive experiences. It's THEIR mistake so they should carry the cost. It would be different if it was an exchange due to change of mind on your part. You should definitely contact them to let them know. If anything, they should send you the right one, even if you don't send that one back.

Why would you have to pay to have it returned???? Obviously it was there mistake and THEY need to take care of it.

Also, you need to wait mama. Don't do your hair with the relaxer unless you have already used it and can live with the results. You will be so happy that you waited.

I can't tell you the scientific different between lye and no lye but I know I don't like no lye. My hair always felt dry and never gre below shoulder. And since i am on the no/low heat thingy I chose to only flat iron my hair every touch up with rollersetting once a month.

But I will def. take you advice and Jlove's by telling them to pay for the mix up.

Thank everyone I just need confirmation to tell me what i already knew I'll wait until tomorrow night.

I was going to say the same thing. If they f'd up the order.....they need to pay for the shipping. They should just send you the right one free of charge. I am not sure if you ar using heat at the moment or not but maybe if you have something special to do today you can flatiron this once?

Thank you lady! The skin is a SERIOUS spot cover up job though. That MAC can cover up some stuff pretty well ;)

Girl, please wait. It's like L'Oreal says, your worth it!!!

The company definitely needs to cough up the cost to send it back. And the nerve of them sending you Dr. Miracles samples. That just adds insult to injury right there. :nono:

There is a difference between lye and no lye. The rule of thumb is no lye is harsher on the hair and gentler on the scalp and vice versa on the lye. Some people complain of persistent dryness from calcium deposits from no lye while others have no problem and love it. Some people lye burns the baJesus out of their scalp, while others enjoy the silkiness left in the hair from the lye relaxer. No lye's active ingriedient is calcium hydroxide (still a form of lye), lye's is sodium hydroxide. But everyone is different, it's a personal choice. If you already have made to decision to go with lye, don't let those trifling fools dictate what you do to your hair, girl! :naughty:

Why did someone rate this thread a "1". Why was there even a need to rate it?

Now that's messed up right there!

I know I love my LHCF sistas and if I had a problem with my hair, I too would post a thread to get advice from those that know best and genuinely care about the well being of a fellow member's hair. To rate such a thread a 1 is unconscionable, and shows a lack of sensitivity to the LHCF sistahood. :(

I have a good idea who it is. She doesn't like relaxers so that probably was her primmary reason. I don't really like her either so I guess we're even. All I got to say it be a real boss b!tch about yours and say whatever you got to say in open, don't hide behind a thread rating.

And thanks for breaking that down for me Priestess. That was very helpful.

Thanks everyone for the help and information, even the lady who gave the thread a one star, let's me know that you gave yourself the opportunity to even read it:lol:

I agree w/ everyone else! Wait and use what you wanted to for your hair, initially! The vendor shouldn't even trouble you to have it shipped back to them b/c it was their mistake, not yours. Hopefully, they'll just send you what you ordered at no charge.

Giirrrllll, don't fret! I'm sure you can work with that BUSH while you wait on the correct relaxer.... in the meantime, check out some of these "stretch relaxer touch-up time" or even "transitioning" threads on LHCF...and return that no lye relaxer for your money back. ;)

I think they should offer to express ship what you ordered and, if they just want it back, send you a return label for what you didn't order. If nothing else, you can always post it on the product exchange. It will be okay.

I totally feel you on feelign down and stuff. I'm hating my body and have started running two miles twice a day! My hair is a disaster and I don't feel fit to be seen in public. But we will be alright.

Also, whoever gave the thread a 1 needs to check themselves. You could be the one on here next with an urgent hair concern. If you don't have anything positive to add, just keep it moving.

First of all, giving a thread a 1 rating is just childish and if you don't like relaxers or someone on this board, you have two options, join another board and leave this one or suck it up and act like a grown-ass woman.

Now, I think you'll be fine if you wait. Get your best brush and follow your "summer motto" and bun it up. And don't forget to smile, remember you can only go up from being down.

off topic but this is AWESOME Kimberly! Congrats and keep it up sweetie!

I feel your frustration. I think you should wait. Call them first thing tomorrow have them reimburst you for both the product and any additional shipping cost you will incure. Then maybe you can try a lye relaxer at the BSS. I like Motions. Otherwise just have them ship you the correct relaxer.
