How long after getting a relaxer,do you have to wait until getting a semipermanent? How harmful is it to your hair and does anyone know of any good semipermanent hair colors?
Thanks!

you can do it straight away. just as long as it does'nt contain any ammonia or peroxide. the aveda semi colours are the safest and most natural, i usually get a jet black/blue colour. i also like the goldwell brand. both are safe to use straight after a relaxer.
i know a lot of the ladies on this board use sebastians.

I agree w/ whats been said.. if it doesnt have any ammonia or peroxide in it, you can do it on the same day as your relaxer. Kiss by Express colors dont have either.

u can do semipermanent color at the same time as the relaxer. i would suggest relax first then apply the color. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

my salon does it the same day....Sebastian...it seems to lock in the color IMHO

Because your cuticles are WIDE open after relaxers. Thats why a lot of people condition then neutralize after rinsing relaxers out

Good info here...I also like Clairols Beutiful Collection. Tracy told me that it's actually good for the hair...no harmful chemicals and seals in a good conditioner if you use the semi-perm rinse last.

Yep, you can apply the semi- color after relaxer the same day! That's what I've been doing for 2 years now!
