does anyone here know how to self relax and still get good results? i have used a no lye before and i dont have a problem with dryness (sp?), but my hair remains coily.
TIA

I do the 'half-half' method in that I relax the front first, wash it out, then relax the back. This means that each section gets equal relaxing time and it is very straight.

J maybe it's your smoothing technique you need to work on. Could that be it, or do you think you may need to switch to lye?

Yes, maybe it's the relaxer brand or strength you are using... maybe you need a stronger relaxer.

i think it may be the strength of relaxer i used. i used regular gentle treatment and let the relaxer stay in for the time limit for fine hair but i guess that aint working.

oh well i will try again in like 8 weeks. my friend has relaxed my hair with dark and lovely regular no lye and my hair came out fine. she just left it in much longer. ah well, ya live and u learn.
