Hey, you might want to add Niacin to your vitamin regime. Be very careful on the dosage you take because once you start it, you will get what's called a Niacin rush (your body will get hot, your scalp starts tingling.) I've purchased the GNC brand in 500mg and took one pill and my body felt like

!! So, I just cut the pill in 3 pieces and take it with food to eliminate the rush. Niacin is in the B vitamin family and this helps to stimulate blood flow throughout the body (definitely the scalp.) You will find this in most hair growth vitamins, but not as strong as 500mg. Be careful and maybe you should consult with someone first cause I'm no expert, but I thought I'd let you know what I do for circulation for my scalp (along with scalp massages.) What other vits are you taking?

Hey Bronxbaby....I've been thinking about this lately. Topically, I think you could use a stimulant such as rosemary oil added to a carrier oil such as jojoba oil.

I think exercise, probably something aerobic, will get the blood circulating ALL OVER the body, which includes the head.

Also, massage is reported to be good for stimulating the scalp and here is where a good oil with scalp stimulants would come in.

The last suggestion I have cones from a book I have that I can't locate at the moment. Using a slantboard to encourage the rush of blood to your head....soemthing like that. Anywyas, I don't have a slant board but I figure hanging my head over my bed for a few minutes might do the trick. Don't laugh.

I've been looking at old hair pics and realize that I've been stuck at the same length for YEARS and I'm sick of it. I'm sick of this sickly hair too!!!

Hope this helps you out.

Bronxbaby...I just wanted to add that there are 889 members here in this club. Some are not online at this time. Some don't know the answer but would love to read the responses you get becasue they may have been wondering the same thing. Some just lurk and don't post at all!! I just happened to have been thinking about this lately which is why I was able to reply.

It's Saturday morning--some lucky people are still sleeping---I know it's frustrating (it happens to me a lot too) but patience is a virtue!

I just didn't want you to go taking anything personal...yes this a club where we share tips--when we're awake and have something to share!!!!!!

Happy Hair Growing!!!!

Edited to add: I noticed that you posted this last night. I never even saw it. It's a good thing you bumped it up. Sometimes people just don't see the posts too........

Definitely exercise. More than one member has posted their experiences with this in the past. I have recently noticed my hair growing, I have been exercising lately and along with other aspects of my regime it is making a difference.

BronxBaby87, massaging the scalp is a very good simulant. I do it every 4 day before I wash my hair, with rosemary essencial oil and Jojoba oil mixed( 12 drops of rosemary ess. in about 2 oz of jojoba oil), and it works. I can feel my scalp tinggling after I massage it for 10mn. To me it is not expensive at all when the rosemary essencial oil(1 oz) costs me $5 and 16 oz of jojoba oil costs $24 last me a year because I put drops of the mixture on my scalp ( now that my husband wants to massage his scalp too

, It will be hard for me to last a year

Sometimes I lay across the bed and hang my head over - this increases circulation to the scalp. Sometimes I stand up and put my head to my knees which is a stretch that increases circulation. Yoga, or anytype of exercise, increases scalp circulation.

__Put your change in perspective. For me, my hair is only touching the shoulders but it has NEVER been that length ever in my life. In addition, the strands are silky.

When you think of change, think about how your hair was before to the length and condition it is now.

I think this is the reason why no one can take anything personally. I,myself, only read the threads on page 1 of a category.

my multi vitamin has 30 mg of niacin in it, should that be enough to do the trick or should i add more?

If you have any heart concerns, too much Niacin is dangerous. I have a slight irregular heartbeat and when I took Niacin I nearly passed out twice.

I've also heard of Niacin being good for stimulating the scalp, but personally, I like peppermint and rosemary oil. I set my scalp on fire with peppermint oil every night and I love the tingly glow. If anyone doesn't have this stuff, order it now from Cedarvale.com. Peppermint oil is used in many haircare products to give that feeling that something is stimulating your scalp.
