Scalp sensitivity & mentrusal cycles????

Hi All

This may sound like a silly thing to ask, but I was watching one of those awful commercials for Sanitary protection, and it stated that during "that time of the month" our bodies are more sensitive, blah blah blah.
I'm wondering if this rings true for our scalp when doing touch ups. Is there anyone that relaxes after there cycle as opposed to before it, or vice versa. I think I'm due within a few days, and I don't remember even when I've mixed my relaxer with oil before, being this sensitive during the relaxer process.

Just a thought.

Yup. It happens to me. I suspected it might be possible in Bo's case with her sitch...

I check the calendar when I'm planning a retouch and only do them after my cycle is done. One week before it, and during my scalp would be on fire if I relax my hair. Mnay hairdressers have suggested this as a cause of sensitive scalp over the years.

If I burn quickly the first thing they want to know is : do you have your period? Never fails...

It happens to me too. I cannot have a relaxer the week before and during my cycle. Guaranteed disaster if I do. Funny thing is I didn't use to have a problem, its something that just started in the past few years.

I can confirm this theory. My touch up burned like nobody's business, and just so happens that today is the first day of my period. I wish I would have read this BEFORE I relaxed...

Mines is about to come and the middle of my scalp hurts, didn't hurt last week but hurts like all get out now.

This is so funny because I started mt cycle on saturday night and I have like five spots in my head that hurt and burn, and the spots are very itchy too. I have been on the forum asking questions about my scalp now everything makes perfect sense.LOL

Re: Scalp sensitivity & mentrusal cycles????

In addition to a more sensitive scalp, my relaxer typically doesn't take as well during that time of the month.
