Hi Everyone this is my first post. My question is how do i get rid of a creamy white substance on my scalp? I don't see it when my hair is dry but it is very noticable when it is wet. I began to see this about a week ago. I use creme of nature and lekair conditioner. Can anyone help me with this?

It's hard for me to make recommendations, but I have tried the Suave clarifying and the Pantene one. The Pantene one, beats the Suave one hand down, so maybe you could try that one. Anybody else have any good clarifying rec's?

Apple cider vinegar rinses are supposed to clarify also. I think about 1/4 ACV to 2 liters of water is around the right ratio. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I'ts a buildup from the creme of nature...one of the reason's I haven't used it in a while. It was great on my hair but my scalp got that buildup. I had to use a clarifying shampoo(which I hate) to get rid of it.

thank you all for the response.
sweetcocoa, you had the same thing happen? guess i need to find another shampoo!

Yip. It's the Cream of Nature. I don't use it alot because of that slimey feeling I tend to get from it, and I wouldn't recommend it for hair that is super dirty or loaded with products. It's a waste of time then, because to me, it just creates more residue.

For clarifying, I use Neutragena's clarifying and It works great!

When that happens, I shampoo once with something not Creme of Nature and then rinse and shampoo the second time with Creme of Nature.

Don't know about build up from CON per se. Its the ony poo I use. Maybe it works differently on relaxed hair. Either way, your scalp is simply not clean. Put a dilute shampoo on the scalp and really work it in. Put whatever you want on the hair if there is no problem with drying, tangling, etc. That residue you're talking about will occur with any shampoo if your scalp is dirty (oils, sweat, etc) and doesn't get enough attention during the shampoo.

Did you by chance just have your hair relaxed around that time. If so, did you experience any burning? This too can happen as the burns heal and shed off the dead scalp cells.

My last relaxer was July 3 and I didn't feel any burning. If it is buildup from the CON then I am so mad that i was trying to wash it out with the CoN!! That sucks!
Anyway, I am going to try another shampoo and if that doesn't work then I will find a clarifying shampoo.

Bianca, aside from the subject of the white substance on ur scalp, how is the creme of nature and the lekair working for u as a regimen? have u gotten good results with these two?

yes besides the buildup i have gotten great results with these two. i only started using them a month ago when i found this board. I was using all the wrong products. my hair has now stopped breaking and shedding so much and seems to be getting healthier.
