I did this for the first time yesterday and I was really impressed by the results. My hair was smooth and shiny. However, I wasn't able to stay under the drying longer than 5 minutes because I began to sweat. Anyone else have this problem?

Hi Kayluv..

I love the saran wrap treatment...it gives me that smooth & sleek look of a flat iron! Glad you like it. I sit under the dryer for 10 minutes...and when I start to sweat I just turn the dryer down a little and stay under for my entire 10 minutes. Hope I helped...

Yes like mzcris said, turn down when you start to sweat or like me I turn the temp down before I go under for the saran treatment and sit for 10 minutes, I know the higher the heat it comes out prettier but sweating doesn't help it.

Hi Tebby,

I learned about the Saran Wrap treatment from Macherieamour's website at www.healthytextures.com

When you go to her site; go to tutorials and you will see saran wrap treatments...since finding out about the saran wrap...I have not flat ironed my hair since. Her entire website is awesome!!

If you're having trouble finding the saran wrap tutorial, try this:

I tried it for the first time this weekend. Yes, I sweating like crazy plus I was pushed for time, so I only stayed under the dryer 5 min. as well. However, the results were great - shiny, straight and bouncy. Next time, I'll stick it out at least 10 min. to see if the results are even better. I didn't know if these results were from the Saran Wrap, the Amla pre-poo, my new shampoo or from my roller set in general. This is what is sad about using so many things - you can't track what's really giving you the good results.

By the way, has anyone tried this treatment on hair in between shampoos (like 2 or 3 days after a shampoo)? Just wondering . . . Even though I just splurged on purchasing a Chi about a month and a half ago, I am now going on a once-a-month-only (or avoid-it-altogether-if-possible) heat challenge so I can get my hair back healthy and lengthy. This would be very useful if I could use it even when my hair is not freshly washed.

Ive done this with success....I had just rollerset maybe the day before and the curls had fallen out and it was a little frizzy and limp so I just wrapped it and put a couple of drops of serum in it and saran wrapped it.....when I came out from under the dryer it looked like brand new! I probably wouldnt do it on dirty dirty hair,bc I dont like to comb dirty hair and I feel Id get more breakage trying to wrap it....but if it was washed within a few days and doesnt have too much product in it, I think its fine.

I got it from healthytextures.com too.
I rollerset
Wrap with saran
Sit under dryer 10--20 mins
Flat iron roots
Flat pin curls
Wrap with saran.
Sit under dryer 10--20 mins
Take pin curls out.
It's lovely
Sometimes I even go a step further
and do a flexi rod set after all o' that
too much time on my hands...
I loves it.

Is it necessary to sit under the dryer for this treatment to work? What if I just left the saran wrap on for a longer period of time (like a few hours)?

Oh yes! I discovered the saran wrap treatment because of Macherie's site (healthytextures.com). It was the first resource I found back in August and I tried it for the first time a few weeks later and was simply amazed at the results. I usually rollerset and then saran wrap. I have a soft bonnet dryer and stay under for 10 minutes. I have noticed that sometimes I sweat around my hairline, so I just try to keep the bonnet above my hairline.
