Hi Ladies :whyme:

I just finished to wash my hair : I first clarify my hair with Dark & Lovely clarifying shampoo, then I conditionned with Vitahair conditionner and Deep conditionned with LeKair Cholesterol. I'm currently air drying, but my hair feel rough and hard to deal with  I haven't lost many hairs, but I don't like how my hair feel right now :perplexed
Do you know what's happened ? What can I do to repair my hair ?

The water in Paris is really hard so I only shampoo occasionally, CO wash more, and add oil, honey, and aloe vera to Queen Helene Cholesterol Conditioner (similar to LeKair) to boost the moisturizing properties. It helps to use an ordinary conditioner mixed with a few drops of castor oil as a leave-in before drying.

Thanks for the tips Miss*Tress (BTW, I don't really IN Paris, but in the suburbs - in 95- so I don't know if the water is hard there too).
My hair is so rough....>.<

With some deep conditioners it helps to use a regular rinse-out conditioner to soften things back up. I might be mistaken but I think Lekair has protein in it so that may be why your hair feels hard. I'm sure it will be better if you use a good moisturizing conditioner afterwards next time.

ITA! :yep:

I've used Lekair Cholesterol and the protein in it made my hair feel hard, too! I followed it up w/ a moisturizing conditioner and my hair returned to being soft. :)

If there's calcaire in your coffee pot or kettle then the water is hard in Val d'Oise too.

I know what you mean about rough hair. Since I moved to France I've had to re-think and revise all the products I used to use in Florida. Thank goodness for LHCF - without this board I would never have thought to do 90% of what I'm doing now.

Since you didn't blow dry or roller set, try following Pokahontas advice - re-wet your hair and apply regular moisturizing conditioner, just don't rinse it out completely.

Good luck!

Thank you very much ladies ! Ok so I'm gonna re-wet my hair with conditionner to see the results. I will post a review here ^^
There is too much "calcaire" in Val d'oise... poor hair. I plan to purchase a water filter very soon !!!!

Which cholesterol did you use? The green one (aloe vera) has a high protein content. It tends to make my hair feel hard too. The peach colored one (plus formula) has protein as well but tends to leave my hair feeling soft, strong, and silky. You probably need a moisturizing deep conditioner.

I used the pink one, but I don't know if will use it again :/ (unless I use Miss*Tress tips ^^).

So, I conditionned my hair with Elasta QP conditionner : My hair is fine now ^____^ thanks to all the ladies who helped me !

that conditioner put me into protien overload (i kept running out of ntm and used that weekly without a moist con after) i deep con weekly

anyway i'd take the other ladies advice in follow with a moist con

Same here. I do not even use my LeKair Cholesterol as a deep conditioner, instead I now use it as my prepoo. And on those day when I do use it as a deep conditioner, I follow it with my trusty Nexxus Humectress for a few minutes.

Aww I'm sorry. Did you use heat with it? Some ladies on here have said it's best to use heat with it to get the best results. I use Lekair (peach) with EVOO and NTM, never straight. PLastic cap and I use heat--hand dryer since I don't have a hooded one. For me, it's always best to mix it with other moisturizing, softening substances. My hair always comes out soft and easy to comb through.

Maybe you over conditioned? Maybe it was the Vita conditioner?:perplexed

I do not use heat (I only have a hand dryer, so I'm too lazy...).
I think I will use heat next time I'll DC

Hmm...
I just thought LeKair Choloesterol sucked. I didn't think to use a moisturising conditioner afterwards.
Will try that. I've got half a tub sitting around somewhere.

Naphy, same thing happened to me two weeks ago.

I deep conditionned with lekair (pink one) and my hair came out rough and tangled. It was so hard to detangle, I just gave up and deep conditionned again with some garnier ultra doux huile d'avocat et beurre de karité.

But this has made me seriously consider buying a shower filter. Unfortunately, I haven't found a good and easy to install one.
