My hair is about to the middle of my ear and is all natural. I have never rollerset my hair but would like to start now that blowdryin is a waist of time.

I was hoping to get a few answers to a few of my questions

How do you prepare your hair for a roller set? (DC, airdry, Co-Wash, Straighten hair w/ flat iron etc...)

What products should be used? ( leave-ins, moisturizers, oils,)

What kind of rollers should I get? (I only know about rods...quite embarrasing)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I shampoo, condition, and DC (lately, I've been using Nexxus, before I used Garnier Fructis) I don't towel or air dry b/c the set comes out better if the hair is left as wet as possible during the rolling.

What products should be used? ( leave-ins, moisturizers, oils,)

I use Garnier Fructis Smoothing Milk as a leave-in & Chi Silk Infusion as a Serum & plain water in a spray bottle.

I use magnetic rollers- the kind that you need a clip to hold them in and they are very smooth.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

For me, rollersetting when my hair was chin length was too hard. I had to go to the Dominican salon until my hair got a little longer b/c my hair was too short to get good tension. If you plan on roller-setting in the long term, you should invest in a hood dryer & look for video tutorials from naturals on how they roller set.

I follow my set w/ the saran wrap method. HTH

Hi Keisha T!!!

Shampoo and deep condition

I use a leave in (very little - dime size) Lacio Lacio and a spray bottle of water..I keep my hair dripping wet when I set it

Don't be embarrassed friend, all I know is Magnetic..(all I have ever known) But I recommend magnetic - I have been setting my hair for a while..it can be a little frustrating at first - trial and error...also get the two prong clips (if u get the magnetic) - I actually roller wrap...

HTH!!!

Any help is greatly appreciated![/quote]
